WILL'S BIRTHDAY

 

Thanks to everyone for all their birthday wishes for Will's 29th birthday at the weekend.

 

He's currently in the States writing and recording, so spent his special day with friends there.

He said he wanted it to be close to his live sound. Biff said he was "fiddling with Will Young". Perhaps it was a bit too 'live' for SBMG - hope they don't over-produce - his acoustic sound is wonderful but maybe not 'commercial' enough for them.

I think he's probably over there adding stuff to his existing tracks, I don't think the album is too far away from being finished actually. ;)

Maybe he's just come up with a better lead single & needs to juggle things a little. :)

Question -

Hi Will, just wondering whether you have read any good books in the last months and what you would recommend.

 

Answer -

I just started The Life of Gene Kelly, which someone gave me - I think it was a fan actually. I recently read Harry Potter though - I feel embarrassed about it but I was ill, I hadn't read it and it was great… so actually I'm not that embarrassed. I thought it was the last one but it wasn't, it was the one before so I'm really pleased that I've got one more to go.

 

 

Question -

In Mrs Henderson presents you were on stage naked. Unfortunately, we saw Bob Hoskins naked and luckily we saw your bum... were you really naked or was that a stunt double butt? What was it like being told for your first film you have to get completely naked in the middle of a stage surrounded by about 20 people? Would you do it again?

 

Answer -

I was naked and very proud. I would do it again, I think it’s really liberating. I don’t really mind taking my clothes off. Everyone was in the same boat because of the nature of the film; it actually kind of brought everyone together as it should have done in the story. What was going on was actually really going on. I loved it.

Will Update, UK

 

Will's currently taking a short break from his current Stateside studio schedule to soak up some rays in warmer climes.

 

Meanwhile, he's asked us to pass on a big thank you to everyone who's been so kind as to send in birthday wishes and gifts – with a special shout-out going to the Gravesend fans for the brilliant tablemat and coaster sets!
