February 7, 200817 yr Author 'Let There Be Love' for the first time in ages. I really do like this one een though it isn't my style of music.
February 7, 200817 yr I love that one and I thought he was so much slicker than the other PI kids and so professional singing that on the concert tour. He was the only person who actually got into the character of those old time singers, right down to addressing the audience and slipping in little quips. I can still remember seeing the originals on TV shows when I was young. He can sing in so many different styles. That's why I was irked by a criticiism by a theatre luvvie who dismissed his singing as quasi-pop. In theatre Darius delivers songs the way he's directed by the musical director. If they want the full blown "musical" vocal for Rhett, he's more than capable. If, like in G & D, he's told to hold back so he doesn't overpower, he'll do that too.
February 7, 200817 yr Author I can't wait. When I can be saying - one from 'Gone With The Wind' in this thread, will be brilliant.
February 7, 200817 yr My song for today is Dive In - it's what darius excells at career-wise, diving fearlessly from the high board into the deep end. I've got the album on shuffle.
February 7, 200817 yr Author I like that he's prepared to put all the work needed to achieve his goal. 'Don't Forget To Breathe'
February 7, 200817 yr For a while I was wondering if Darius still had any goals since he settled down in LA. How wrong could I be?
February 7, 200817 yr Author I began to wonder if he was going to be allowed to reach any of his goals. I felt the media was so against him
February 9, 200817 yr Author Right Girl, Wrong Time' I remember how excited I was when I heard this. I thought it showed that the album WAS going to make February.
February 9, 200817 yr But sadly we all know how completely Darius's world caved in that same February when he heard about Booth. I've now dreamed that Darius was singing a new song and not been able to hear it properly three times. It shows desperation when you can't even hear the new stuff when you're dreaming. I never dream about Darius - apart from these three dreams. No doubt he was singing them to Sir Trevor Nunn, Margaret Martin, the American producers etc.,just not to you, yet. That's why you couldn't hear them. Edited February 9, 200817 yr by Baytree
February 9, 200817 yr Author He'll have to sing up. Is this Margaret Martin the daughter? If they got the rights from her estate then it would normally be that she's died. She'd have to be around the 100 now.
February 9, 200817 yr Margaret Mitchell is the author of the book. Margaret Martin just loved the book so much she wrote a script from it and songs too and then approached Margaret Mitchell's estate who gave it their official blessing. For some reason she wanted to do it in the West End first and it caught the attention of Sir Trevor Nunn and they've been honing it for 3 years along with one of the producers, but I can't remember if it was the American Aldo Scrofani or Colin Ingram. Maragret Mitchell was tragically killed in a road accident some years after the film of GWTW came out. She only wrote one book but it's a true classic of American Literature. February 11, 200817 yr MockingBird listened to it on the way home.......when I hear it I realise just how much I love it, but it's one I don't play often :???:
February 11, 200817 yr Author I get like that with some 'Dive In' tracks. It's only when I play the whole album that I suddenly remember how much I love that album.
February 13, 200817 yr Time to unburden that secret! I need a good kick to get me out. Dive In on repeat full blast should do the job!
February 13, 200817 yr Author It's so lovely out, it'd be a shame to miss it. We've had lovely starts to Feb which haven ended in cold and wet.
