Posted January 23, 200817 yr teletext review: kd lang/Watershed 8/10 Invincible Summer, lang's last album in 2000, was her loved-up record. It may sound cruel, but artistically she's more suited to heartbreak like this. If it's more lyrically resigned than Ingenue, it's no less impassioned. To hear lang in full flight on Once In A While remains one of the most captivating experiences music offers. There are breezier moments, like the scat of Jealous Dog, but this is lang at her imperious, string-soaked best. Even tho the scat of "Dog" might sound like something you might have to skip over  think this sounds like a very promising album full of great torch-songs.
