Posted January 24, 200817 yr Okay, this is quite old news, but I found this article on NME: Razorlight’s Johnny Borrell has landed an acting role in the forthcoming British film ‘The Meat Trade’. The movie is a thriller set in Edinburgh, and is expected to be released in 2008. The Razorlight frontman will star alongside actors Colin Firth and Robert Carlyle. Borrell explained to Billboard that he will play the boyfriend of the leading lady, who has not been cast yet. "We’re filming around Christmas time or just after,” he explained. ”I expect it will be quite fun.” Very exciting, and it gives me something to make a post about :o  According to IMDB.com, its a crime thriller set in Scotland 2007 and sadly its been postponed until late 2008. Here's the plot outline: Edinburgh, Scotland 2007 and there are body snatchers on the streets. Locked in combat, Alec and Tom roller-coaster from murder on demand to blood-lust and mayhem. Sounds intruiging. Hopefully it won't get canned (we're desperate for news), and it will actually turn out to be half-decent Details here Thoughts?
January 24, 200817 yr Oh dear. I can't imagine any sort of "meaty" role (there was no actual pun intended with that until I read the title  ) He'll say a few lines at best, I doubt his acting skills are up to stratch. At least it should get some publicity for Razorlight.
January 24, 200817 yr Author Precisely. And it gives us some great discussion topics, such as "How poor do YOU think Johnny was?" and "What does Johnny suck more at: acting or singing?"
June 11, 200817 yr Borrell's film debut uncertain? Razorlight frontman Johnny Borrell's hotly anticipated acting debut has apparently suffered a set back. In April it was revealed that the singer had bagged a part in The Meat Trade, a gruesome crime thriller written by Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh. But now The Telegraph reports that the star isn't sure that it will go ahead. He reportedly told the paper: "It's still not certain yet. "We'll just have to wait and see. But I'm really hoping that it does happen because I've read the script and it's brilliant - I get offers to act all the time but this is the first one I wanted to do." If it does happen, Johnny is likely to be drawing on his experience in Razorlight, to play a musician. The singer added: "I can't remember who asked me to do it. I was in a pub and this bloke approached me about it." http://www.thisisthesentinel.co.uk/display...rnNodeId=253911
