Surprised we didn't think to make a topic about this earlier

Basically, this is an environmentally friendly campaign that Razorlight (and Johnny in particular) are VERY heavily linked with. They've released tracks, made videos and shown clips at gigs etc in order to raise awareness and get people joining in.

I went on Warchild's Music page earlier and downloaded Johnny's specially recorded track 'Funeral Blues', with proceeds from the track all going to needy causes. And it's a good song, obviously

Here's Johnny's Friends Of The Earth video in which he explains a bit about the sort of things they've been doing to promote the campaign:

So what's everyone's stance on this? Has anyone downloaded any tracks from them yet (I'd recommend it tbh)? Or do you all think Johnny has backed this campaign purely for his own recognition instead of to help the cause?

Please give some input, i'm sick of making topics and having them get 1 reply. Spark some debate or something :o

I'm unsure.

I think he may have some care for the environment etc etc but it does strike me that he may well be doing it for the bands reputation.

I mean it wouldn't be the first time some artist has got involved to boost their popularity.

Although to be fair he did attend the WORLD AIDS DAY thing so he does have some charitable bones in his body obviously.

I have no doubt that theres a part of him was doing it for the publicity

And even though I dont mind Johnny I have to agree with the people who call him Bob Geldof II :heehee:

But still, whatever the reason it's good he's doing this for charity and stuff. I mean they were probablies rubbing their hands when they needed a high-profile face to front their campaign then surely enough Johnny picks up the phone and gives them a call
