I'd be surprised if he ever just stopped. To push on seems to be in his nature. The more insults, the more shoulder to the wheel attitude

I get that impression, even when describing Rhett on the gwtw clip, he seems to be summing himself up - "laughs at misfortune that may come his way- a brave man"

while I was raving about the show we saw, my mum and dad said they caught This Morning and have read some reviews, they were impressed by his interview, and the clips of the show - dad said "I think that boy will go far, now he has lowered his voice, I am very impressed, and added he gives a great interview being totally at ease with people, " My mum reckoned he ws the perfect Rhett. Both said they never take notice of reviews in papers anyway.

true - but then I have read that shows with glowing reviews have not done so well, lets hope word of mouth is worth more than critics review.

have to bring this over, thanks to BTs link, justl oved reading it!

Barbara Windsor to... Darius Danesh - Babs was on her feet at London's New Theatre on Tuesday when Darius received a standing ovation for his role as Rhett Butler in the stage version of Gone With The Wind. She, Twiggy, Joan Collins and even Christopher Biggins were among guests cheering the singer after he wowed the audience on opening night. Unfortunately for director Sir Trevor Nunn, critics weren't quite as impressed with the show itself.

Darius Danesh to... Sir Sean Connery - Darius has more in common with Britain's most enduring screen idol than a distinctive Scots burr. The Popstars reject credits Connery's words of wisdom with his phoenix-like comeback following the whole "Can you feel the love in the room?" debacle in 2001. He says: "I asked him for advice. He looked at me with a wry smile and said 'Darius, you've only ever failed if you stop trying'." Somehow we get the impression Darius will never stop trying.

well, oddly I had logged off and gone to bed, but just thought I'd have another browse as hubby is watching air crash disasters..not my idea of bed time wind down

Thanks. Darius did use his low range on Popstars and Pop Idol with the result he was chucked out both times.

He sang Shakedown one of his own songs which the judges refused to judge him on and Nicky Chapman told him to sing Hit Me Baby One More Time and show them his full range./ She was there last Tuesday. Maybe now she realises how impossible it was.

On Pop Idol he sang Make It Easy On yourself and was voted out leaving Will and Gareth in the final.

Absolutely.

Different subject. One of my favorite Darius songs is 'Now or Never' - not lower range. Some of the songs in GWTW seemed lower to start with. I think they recognise that he has a really good vocal range. I do love it when he just stands and sings though anf that tends to be lower range.

The warmth of Darius's voice comes over all the way through his range whether he's singing from his throat for pop or from his chest for MT.

Darius uses his voice appropriately. So many singers, especially MT performers attempting pop, don't.

How special was it on Tuesday the 22nd Meg, he was just awesome wasn't he :)

Nearly as good as the 18th, Paul. That's been my favorite up to now. He's not been anything but excvellant in any I've seen. YThe first preview took me so by surprise. You dopn't realise how good he is until that first viewing. Not having it finish until after the last train home left nearly worried us. We just though we'd manage somehow - and we did. More luck than judgement. And even the 13 yr old thought it was worth any inconvenience - and would I please get my finger out and take her again.

But there's word of mouth the other way too.

There's a post from a group leader on wos asking what other shows would be good to see. They have tickets for several including GWTW and several other posters are telling him to return the tickets for GWTW and see their favourite.

well if they could return some for good seats on a june matinee performance..

I can see the reviews swinging round as time goes by- and people wishing they hadnt took notice of early reviews
