i loved 'Chicago' - the scenery there was different. I was reading the book of GWTW last night, and Scarlet was singing then Rhett's beautiful base voice joined her soprano.

Sounds good.

Bass? Darius can sing deep. I'm just not sure he could sing a whole song that low.

I'm curious. How is Rhett Butler described in the original book?

Rhett comes over in the beginning as very Darius. His charactor is far more forthright and tells things as he sees them, even though it's not popular.. He's very tall, very dark, broad shoulders and narrow hips and very male. He has a small moustache.. She can't understand why he has the effect on her he does by half way through the book. He's described as dangerous.

Ah so he will need a moustache then.

She can't work it out because it's the X factor, personal magnetism, charisma whatever you want to call it. Anyway Darius has it aplenty. No need for pretence there.

I .like physical sets and scenery as well and I was hoping for glorious gowns at least for Scarlet. Its just the fact that they say you will have to use your imagination makes me think not physical sets and scenery. still we shall be too busy looking at D.

I was hoping for plenty of costume changes after all Rhett is supposed to be very wealthy.

Darius had one suit in Chicago and 2 in Guys and Dolls.can we at least get 3 in GWTW?

They go into a lot of detail in the book about what he wears.

Just a mention from Broadway Stars

Stars Jill Paice and Darius Danesh gear up for the London musical version of Gone With the Wind.

Another American one. :D

I hope he has loads of costumes and his own dresser .................the works!

I'll let you know what it says in the book. It's just a lot of book to read. I'm glad I am though. I could never stand the film but I'm happier with the book.
No. Darius will have to act his socks off to be as hard and mean as Rhett gets sometimes - but in fairness to Rhett he is pushed to the limit.
I'm sure Darius's pusuit of perfection, his ability to work hard and his endless good nature while doing so, will not have passed by Sir Trevor during the auditions.
