Rhett's supposed to be a Leo according to his characteristics. Darius is a Leo.

I found Jonathan Cainer's June horoscope for Leo quite amusing.

June 2008

Leo

Your June Forecast: Thank heavens you are here at last. I have been waiting around on this page for ages just hoping that you would eventually arrive. In fact, hang on a moment, I really must share this. 'Hey everybody! It is OK, you can all stop biting your nails so nervously. Relax, the star of the show is finally here.' Wow. You had us worried for a moment. We thought you weren't coming. Now please be good enough to stand still, while we touch the hem of your garment. And by the way, you had better get used to this kind of treatment. There really is a distinct possibility of more of the same in store.

I don't know about touching the hem of his garment but I don't intend to take my eyes off Rhett/Darius for a moment tomorrow.

I only recall david Essex and Paul Nicholas were in it, long time ago..it was not something I was interested in really - a musical about jesus' death - always seemed odd to me,
I really don't see Darius in Jesus Christ Superstar at all.

Right now I can't think of any exisiting role which would fit Darius as perfectly as Rhett Butler.

That said, he has the ability to make any part his own, so maybe it doesn't matter if the role played by someone else seems miles away from Darius the person.

Theres talk of a new movie of the three musketeers. Could see him in that.
It will be difficult to follow Rhett Butler, nothing else will compare.
I do agree Nina but something has to follow unless its broadway.I know the album is in waiting but not sure this time is a good time after GWTW being fresh in the critics minds.

But that's what's so ridiculous - the critics mostly went into comparative raptures about Darius's singing and acting.

That should have been a great platform from which he could launch his 3rd album but money men and unforgiving showbusiness and news media omitting positives and bigging up all negatives not down to Darius himself, have destroyed it.

But those who actually went to see the show will have in mind how great Darius was as Rhett and how fantastic his voice is. Even my husband was impressed with his singing and performance (and he isn't easily impressed).

I think the first time I saw the show, I must have been too tired to appreciate the underscoring. I hadn't realised that each of the main characters had a recurring theme. In the first Act Rhett's theme is I'm Your Man and in the second, Nobody Knows You. There was one for Ashley too - Softly...

Do you know what other ones there were? I thought I heard The Very Best People being used, maybe as the Atlanta theme?

I also like the way "Join The Troop" was played slowly and out of harmony for the bedraggled and dispirited routed Southern soldiers in contrast to the arrogant claims of early victory.

Maybe I was just more aware of the score on Wednesday because I was to the side and so nearer to the band.

There was also the prayer, I want to be Scarlett O'Hara again, Gone with the Wind, Gerald O'Hara's song about Tara and possibly some others that I can't remember at the moment
The shows were fantastic yesterday. In the afternoon the cast had some fun with the show. Very funny. Darius changed the words of "disturb me when I'm having an afternoon nap" Naughty boy!!!!
haha..so it wasnt my ears..LOL I though it was my mind again..I told hubby but he hadnt noticed, although trouserless soldier was new to him - so we thought pranks were afoot..as the doctor said - a sherrible tock..LOL
It's traditional for actors to do that. I'm glad that Darius only mucked about with Rhett in the first act because the second one is so emotional and he brilliantly conveys the various stages in Rhett's life; the cocky womanising blockade runner, the solid citizen, the family man, the reformer and philanthropist, the angry drunk, the broken man and finally the man with a mission.

I only noticed the nap one, and the sell the farm and live in a field one, when he was in jail

my daughter started singing the recontruction song earlier..later I heard her singing Once upon a time..so if an 8 yr old can recall things..I am gobsmacked the critics dismissed the music so vermently

I've found a couple of more comments about Darius in GWTW

He's no Clark Gable but he can sing, act and command a stage.

That's not a bad summing up. Darius can be proud of how far his acting has come. I'm confident he could do the same with virtually any character.

And there's this

Darius Danesh, who plays Rhett Butler, and especially Natasha Yvette Williams, who plays Mammy, have long and rewarding futures ahead of them.

Hear Hear
