Posted February 2, 200817 yr Jamie & Lynn Spears Granted Temporary Conservatorship Over Britney -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Jamie Spears, accompanied by ex-wife Lynne, was granted temporary conservatorship over their daughter, Britney Spears, in an emergency court hearing Friday. Commissioner Reva Goetz stated that she found Jamie's petition to be in the singer's "best interest." Among the various powers granted pending a Monday hearing: Jamie Spears is allowed to restrict and limit visitors to his daughter, as well as employ security guards to protect her. Commissioner Goetz also allowed temporary powers over Spears's finances, in addition to securing her residence, changing its locks, and vacating any persons living there. Jamie and Lynne Spears, who appeared solemn throughout the hearing, seemed relieved by the ruling. The court also granted them the power to "prosecute any civil harassment restraining orders." Earlier in the day the singer's confidant, Sam Lutfi, spoke out against Britney's parents and their arrival in court, telling PEOPLE: "I object to this. Britney is fully capable of handling her own finances. Her doctors are capable of handling her health care. You'd think in a time like this, the family would be at the hospital taking care of their daughter, rather than fighting for her money. How sad." PEOPLE
February 2, 200817 yr Author THIS IS THE BEST THING POSSIBLE TO HAPPEN TO HER. This basically means that her parents have complete control of her, except for medical care...so basically they can make her move out of LA make it so she can't hang out with all of those enablers like Adnan and Sam. THANK GOD.
February 2, 200817 yr Yeah, this is very good news. I'm glad Britney was willing to go to the hospital for a 2nd time in the first place. Of course, Britney's parents getting the final say is even better! Let's hope that her parents get to keep the decision making over Brit. ^_^
February 3, 200817 yr Yeah this really is the best thing to happen to Britney. Her parents will (hopefully) manage her better than she can manage herself...
February 3, 200817 yr Yes :cheer: Fantastic idea, I also really hope Brit is diagnosed with something and is put on some sort of course to get better.
