February 7, 200817 yr It.s like Philip said jokingly in the last This Morning interview - No Darius for ages then two come along at once.
February 8, 200817 yr I'm still looking forward to the album even more than GWTW though. :o You do suprise me....I'd never have thought that :P
February 8, 200817 yr See, you just don't notice . I may just disappear down a crack. (OK, a vey wide crack)
February 8, 200817 yr You agreed you would let him have some time off to get a sleep, megham. Crashing on that old couch in the recording studio just won't be good enough if he's doing 8 shows.
February 8, 200817 yr I can't see him having time for the first month or two - with rehearsals, promotion, sleeping AND eating. We may get a pleasant surprise though. Someone was just saying that 'Lord Of The Rings' has only just got it's cast album out. That one started ages ago.
February 8, 200817 yr It was still by the original cast. It'd be a bit difficult to have an orininal castcd with new people.
February 8, 200817 yr So was it recorded but took time for finishing then? I don't mind that but it would be better to have the CD available in the theatre if not on full release, as soon as possible. I wouldn't mind a T shirt with the GWTW logo with Jill and Darius instead of the silhouettes.(sp)
February 8, 200817 yr I would love to bring a cd home with me on the first night I go. I;ve had a lot of practise with patience but I'm still useless at it.
February 9, 200817 yr That's why I bought the War Child album. Pretty Flamingo was live and acoustic but it still knocked the stuffing out of tracks by bands praised to the rafters by NME. I bought Greasemania for Darius, Tony Hadley, Gareth and GA's Devoted To You - they looked and sounded great on that in the TV show. I didn't like the phone bit in the recorded version of Sandy though.
February 9, 200817 yr Even my son said (surprised) that Darius' track was the best on the War Child album. I don't understand why he was surprised as Darius is very very good.
February 9, 200817 yr son! There you have it. Boys don't do Darius - uncool- but there are closet fans. It's the same attitude you see in the follow up show to The Choir on BBC just now, I think it's called "Boys Don't Sing". No boy would openly admit he liked singing, although some were in other choirs and some sang in their bedrooms but as soon as the choirmaster got a few to stand up, the others came out of the woodwork and he got a reasonable number of them into his choir.
February 9, 200817 yr indeed, my daughter still sighs on hearing Darius on my CD, "I really like him, mum- but its so uncool"..LOL I only buy the CD if Darius is singing, the war album..grease.. and I will only buy the GWTW one if Darius is on it too.
February 9, 200817 yr I can't imagine that the leading man won't have at least one solo song in any musical. Even Captain Von Trapp got Edelweiss. If it's an original London cast CD I can't see how they could miss out Darius. I'm sure some of the inner workings of Rhett's mind will have to come in song otherwise we'll end up with a Shakespearian soliloquy or Sir Francis Urquart style asides to the audience.
