God, I love her. She really was the originator of fusing hip-hop & soul but adding a universal, tribal twist just like Kelis & M.I.A. have done this decade. And her albums are so distinctive from one another: Raw Like Sushi was a phonomenal debut but Man really is her signature record with so many brilliant choons on it like Woman, Golden Ring, Together Now, Everything, 7 Seconds & Hornbeam.

The funny thing is, I initially thought she was British whenever she recorded her vocals.

As for my favorite single, extremely hard to pick but erm: Woman, obvious, I know... but it's such a flawless choon however Money Love would be my second choice. I'm always in the mood for a Neneh or Sade record once in a while.

Had 2 go with 7 Seconds but it was really close with Buffalo Stance. I also Like Manchild, Love Can Build A Bridge, and Woman.

i really dont like the awful cheesy 'love can build a bridge'... what a come down/sell out.

'buffalo stance' was my fav

by the way, does anyone actually know what a 'buffalo stance' is?...

Went for Manchild - great song from Neneh's only truly great period. 7 Seconds just got on my t*ts eventually and Love Can Build a Bridge is f***ing awful.

I concur - Love Can Build A Bridge is ghastly. Also Chrissie Hynde's major lowpoint along with those UB40 horrendous collaborations.

I love 'Buffalo Stance', that late 80s hip-hop soul/ghettoblaster sound of this era just cannot be beaten, god I wish I was an 80s child!

I HATED 'Seven Seconds' with passion though.

Kisses on the wind is my fave by her. Classic but not one of her better known hits.

maybe Woman or Kootchi - tho i could mention something by all saints or sugababes at this point for added sarcasm
