Shakira sheds wardrobe for charity

Colombian singer Shakira is shedding her wardrobe - for a good cause.

 

The hip-swinging pop sensation is auctioning off more than 40 articles of clothing she wore on her 2007 Oral Fixation tour to benefit her Bare Feet Foundation, which is building a school for impoverished children in northern Colombia.

 

A shiny lavender skirt with turquoise and coral beading; a bright red dress with a plunging neckline and huge, winglike sleeves; a blue tank top emblazoned with the slogan "For Those Who Love to Rock"; and other items are up for bid on the website eBay Giving Works.

 

The auction began on Friday and continues for 10 days.

 

"We have bids from all over the world. It's very exciting," said Eric Gazin, president of Auction Cause, the Los Angeles company running the auction.

 

While most auctions start out slow, bids for Shakira's clothing have already been flooding in, Gazin said.

 

Last November, Shakira auctioned off clothing from the 2007 film Love in the Time of Cholera, for which she is nominated for a Golden Globe for the original song, Despedida.

how much did the auctions raise so far? around 50k? the guitars are lefts :w00t:both got bids so that another 14k to add to PD. but did you see the delivery charges for the UK? not reasonable at all! <_<

 

i'm not surprised the leaves bra and panties didn't sell they were crazy to ask for 10k :wacko:

Lol :lol: Ridiculous! The tops and stuff started at really reasonable prices but $10k was way over the top. I think they raised almost $80k but I'll have to check. It would've been so cool to get a guitar, I think they were the best items on there.

I made up a list with the results:Makes currently a total of $76.013,59 for PD :) (if i counted right...)

thanks for the list, she did so well 80k :thumbup: i really liked the panasonic pink winged dress, that would look cool on display with the wings up. also the panasonic outfits in the paint commercial should have been sold, that amazing sculpture lamp shade dress, this one look here.....

Colombian singing sensation Shakira has been auctioning off her clothing for charity, and one bra has sold for US$3,000.

 

Shakira shimmied in the sparkly brassiere, designed by Roberto Cavalli, during her 2007 Oral Fixation world tour.

 

One fan may have shelled out big bucks for the bra, but the money raised will benefit the Bare Feet Foundation. It's a charity, which is currently building a school for children in Shakira's native land of Colombia.
