Posted May 21, 200619 yr It's okay, Britney. We've done it too. Posted May 16th 2006 7:04AM by Jen Creer Filed under: Health and Safety, Lifestyle, Media Britney Spears has made some poor choices since she has been a parent. First, she drove holding her baby on her lap. Then, there were the mysterious incidents with the nanny and the baby being dropped. Now, she has improved in that she was driving with Sean Preston in a carseat-- the seat was just facing the wrong way. Today, via email, several of us at Blogging Baby were expressing sympathy for Britney. She is a young mother and I do not think she would intentionally hurt her child for the world. She has made some mistakes, and she has had some bad luck. But, then again, so have we all. I would not have wanted to be under the unending criticism and scrutiny of the media when I was a young mother of 24 years. We began to share stories with each other that would have resulted in our being front page news if we were poor Britney Spears. We were spared that humiliation. In order to protect the young, the naive, and the well-intentioned, I thought I would share with you some of the the stories we told today, without disclosing the identities of the parents who shared them. But the fact is, none of us are perfect. And none of us are going to win any parenting awards with these stories. What are your stories? (Feel free to respond anonymously). Two of us at least have had children who eat their own poop. One of us watched with horror as her toddler ate a cicada in front of her, but she was breastfeeding a younger baby, and couldn't get to the older child in time to stop it. Three of us have children who love beer. One of us has a child who says beer is, "Nummy." One of us had to leave a restaurant with a one-year-old who was screaming adamantly for beer after seeing the adults served. Two of us have had children who have, for one reason or another, been determined not to be strapped correctly into their carseats. Discoveries were made while we were driving, and pulling over safely was not possible. At least one of us has locked children into the car with the car running. We have been lucky that our children have not been harmed by these imperfections. Some of these things have been more traumatic than others. But the fact is, even though sometimes we shake our head over Britney Spears, most of us have been there, or at least at the same ball park. How about you? http://www.bloggingbaby.com/2006/05...ve-done-it-too/
May 22, 200619 yr Author yeah it was very nice of them! Im glad that some people have enough sense to realize that she isnt a bad mother, she actually is great because she is there for her baby and has nothing but love to offer. Not alot of people can say they did that, especially in their early twenties.
May 22, 200619 yr Exactly! You know what? Most of those people who have been saying nasty stuff about B and Sean P must have had a really bad childhood, and WISH they had a mother half as good as Britney -_-
