I actually think that, that is a naive way to look at it.

I don't think it's so much that they don't care about her but that she doesn't need it. Celine has such a huge fanbase and the reward comes through the tour. She really doesn't need million selling albums and #1 singles to prove her success now. She's almost a free spirit. Obviously her record company have made this decision for her but I see it as more of an interesting risk (which has actually had a positive outcome in plenty of repsects) opposed to a wrong decision.

This was a new direction for her, I'm sure with the right single choices, & promotion, she would've gained more fans in addition to her huge fanbase, that's my point :D

I don't think Celine would have another UK hit from Taking Chances, with the exception of Alone.

She needs to begin on a new album; otherwise her careers over!

I wouldn't say that her career will be over, despite no hit, her album is already platinum in the UK, & sold over 3 million copies worldwide, but she need the promo for singles success.

It's done well to go platinum in the UK. It doesn't have a chance at 600k, though.

I like Celine Dion, i just wish she'd come out with a better album.

Well, I think that Sony's problem for not promoting her enough, I have to disagree with you on that, I think it's one of her best albums in a while, was way better than "One Heart" & "Miracle". :)

Welcome to the forum, it's great to see new faces here :)

I have to agree with you Rami. TC is way better then One Heart and Miracle. It has a diff feeling and more edge to it.

I like it a lot actually. People just have to give it a chance and Sony should promote her way better in order for her singles to succeed.

Thanks Suus, they should have promoted more edgy singles from the album, they just didn't give the album a chance (ironically lol, now how's that Taking Chances) With no hit the album has sold around 3 million copies already, it'll be a whole different story.

Thank you for the lovely welcome.

Yep, i agree, Taking Chances is much better than Miracle & One Heart, it's just not as good as some of her best albums; The Colour Of My Love etc.

Well she said, she wanted to try something different this time around, different from her previous efforts.
She's grown as an artist and a humen being and she was ready to try a new sound. Well done I say.

I just wish she'd go back to singing the power ballads that she's famous for. They're what gained her her fans, so I think it's pretty foolish to then desert them and try something else.

However she is a great artist, quite possibly the best singer that's ever existed, and I wish her well for her next single...whatever it may be.

Well I agree, about the power ballads, but the new album also includes power ballads, "My Love", "Alone", & others which are really greatly done.

Who knows, what will her next album be like.

alone is a power ballad though

Agreed ^_^

The problem isnt the quality of the material on the new album - its the record company. The singles havent been promoted very well and attracted very little airplay. Also, there should have been a physical release for taking chances and one for the forthcoming alone single.
