E4 is to air the new season of Big Brother USA from next week.

The channel will screen the show on Tuesday and Thursday nights at 9pm from February 14, just a few days after their broadcast in the US.

E4 has aired the US version of the reality show once before - season four, in 2003 - but has since been unable to because of scheduling clashes with the British series. This year Big Brother USA is airing several months earlier than planned because of the ongoing writers' strike.

I'll probably give this a watch. I've never watched a USA BB before, but I love anything BB, even when everyone else thinks it's rubbish.

Its totally different to the UK format - far less superior.
I've seen a random episode and thought it was alright, I like the couples thing their doing

I think it's alright. It could almost be a different show to our Big Brother because the only thing that is the same is the general idea of housemates living together and being evicted. The way evictions and nominations are done is different. Then there is the Head of Household and that...umm...where they have the choice whether to save someone who is up for eviction.

Actually watching the show isn't like Big Brother. Firstly you don't hear Big Brother speak, it's more like the room on 'I'm a Celeb' where they talk to the camera. Then they have dramatic music and flashbacks a lot, which kind of makes it a bit cheesy and lastly the "US Davina" she is like an actual host who is there every day, not just at evictions like Davina. They don't have eviction crowds either or public voting.

I like it, it doesn't really seem like Big Brother, but it's good.

Are you joking? I think it's a million times better than ours. I watched this a few years ago when it was on E4 and I loved it, I've only watched the first two episodes of this season but I have the others recorded and can't wait to watch it.

I agree. The format is much better than the UK version.

For starters not being allowed to talk about nominations and tactics is pointless rule and makes the show much more entertaining, which is why the US version is usually more interesting as they are schemeing and can discuss noms whenever they want, which causes arguments. Plus the veto idea is really good as it creates more competitiveness. The housemates voting to evict is also better than the public being able to as this means housemates male alliances and it's quite fun to see them grovellto the other HMs, instead of the public continually voting out the entertainers in the UK house.

Also, USA picks good housemates, who are all actually admit they are in for the money, unlike the UK ones who blatantly lie and say they are just there for the 'experience' :manson:

Which is which guys.....The better format...is it in UK or in US..
The U.S is better in terms of tasks and having a great theme, however Big Brother just isn't Big Brother without a live eviction to a cheering/booing crowd, combine the two then it would be worth watching.

yup that's right buddy...It will be great if it's combined...

I like the rules and entertainment value and tasks and stuff in USBB, but they say when they nominate its "strategic" and "nothing against you as a person", which i find a bit boring. In UKBB it seems to be slightly more.... i dunno how to word it, emotional maybe (?)

OMG this series is so amazing! Ive never been "addicted" to anything before but today ive been counting down the hours until it started. The last episode was amazing. James really is being really lucky. There was 1/6 chance he would stay this week. With 3 POV's he's won that means that the chances of him staying for 3 weeks is actually 1/216 (i think all the POV's have had 6 people in in the last 3 weeks), and now he has

And just before the eviction Josh lied about his thoughts for Sharon right in front of her. He said "Well its so hard to campaign against each other, and i love her too much to try swing the vote, and im sure she isn't to me". The ironic thing he WAS campaigning to swing the vote. What he didn't know is that Sharon knew he was lying. And you could see them on the sofa together and Sharon's face was in a mixture of emotions, and she was trying to hide it. It was a really good moment

At the moment i feel sorry for Sharon, but i think Josh deserves to win... and go, because he is a better player but a meaner player too. Im unsure on who to support but its still really tense
