i loved his band so im pretty pissed off about it

from there myspace bulletion declaring the split:

Hi all,

Well, some of you may have heard the news by now.....The Dead 60s are no more. We decided to call it a day just after Christmas. There's no big story, no falling out between us. We just felt like the band had run its course, time for us all to branch out & try other things.

A big thanks to everyone who has been partial to the success that we had and to all the amazing gigs/tours/nights out that we experienced along the way.

And so, on to new things and new music. We will keep you posted of our new projects & hope to see you all soon..

Feri bhetaula,

Matt, Charlie, Ben & Bryan.

It's a shame, but their last single was a bit poor. They had some great heavy dub rock songs but their new material was pretty awful.

yeah the last single, 'stand up'was proper c**p but there first self titled album is really amazing. i saw them at reading festival last year and they were ok, they were on pretty early though so they didnt really get the full potenial playing so early but i was really bummed out by the amount of new material they played and they even ended with an awful song, but the first album will always be a favourite of mine.

I couldn't agree with you more. I saw them on their tour just before then and it was the same set - like seeing two different bands. Great old material and awful new stuff. No wonder they split, they've lost their identity.

No way! I love the origin of their name: 'Everybody in Liverpool said we sounded "dead 60s"...' Nae bad toons, either!

Dead 60s are dead. R.I.P.

i got their last album cheap - was it actually released in the uk or was it just released in france (think most of the stock was from europe as the verve album had an emi poland sticker on it and groove amada was stuck with a frecnh sticker on front)

it was actually alright the album
