Yoko at war over Lennon

Yoko Ono and Julian Lennon have fallen out over a lawsuit involving American singer Lennon Murphy.

 

Murphy, who was named after John Lennon, has been a singer since 1999. She says she asked Ono for permission to use her real name before touring.

 

But Ono is now suing Murphy, saying her name "tarnishes" her late husband's memory. Julian posted a message on his MySpace offering his support to Murphy.

 

Do you support Yoko's actions or do you think she is out of order?

If it's her actual name, and she's not trying to cash in by impersonating him, or doing an entire set of his songs, I can't see what she's doing wrong. Actually, even if she was, I doubt there's anything Yoko could do about it.

I can't see that Yoko can do anything, as it appears the woman is using her actual name. I've not heard of her but found this on wikipedia:

Maybe she should think about copywriting the name 'John' as well. I wonder if Bob Dylan ever thought about suing The Magic Roundabout!

But then again this is the same Yoko Ono who while remastering John's Walls & Bridges album (originally recorded mid 1974 during John's "Lost Weekend") for a 2005 re-release erased all May Pang's vocal contributions from this reissue.

 

..... and don't get me started on all of John's old videos which she had redone for the Lennon Legend compiliation to include more of Yoko, etc.

........ and maybe the recording artists the Lennon Sisters who appeared on the US syndicated Lawrence Welk show from 1955 to 1968 should sue Yoko Ono & the John Lennon estate for the same thing, and later went on to appear on the Andy Williams show in the 1970s.

Does she seriously believe she is cashing in on John's name..................she is seriously off her trolley.
