Hattie McDaniels who played Mammy in the film beat Olivia de Havilland who played Melanie for the Best Supporting Actress award.

Clark Gable lost out to Robert Donat in Goodbye Mr Chips.

I've never seen the film - just small snatches that made me decide that I just didn't want to bother. That is a bit worrying - but then, I liked the book (well the bits with the story in it)

This is the last post about the moving seat numbers. Everyone should have a seat where they think they booked.

Couldn't help reading the above thread and thought I'd try and assist if possible.

A seating plan is available on the theatremonkey site - there is also one on See's own site too. Nobody is 100% certain it is 100% right yet as I'm told the thing is still being built, but it is as close as it gets at the moment.

Seats in stalls rows E to H are in a new layout. Behind them, rows I to N have been extended and have been re-numbered. So that people have the central seats they paid for originally, I'd guess they'd have to move a few where the original numbers would be at the sides.

The same extended rows are also happening in A to C of the Dress Circle - again, a few folk would probably need to be moved.

Nothing to worry about, but it should all be interesting...

Dont know if this is unintentional by the sun - not a mention of the musical!!

VICTORIA BECKHAM blows ’em away as she recreates the glamour of VIVIEN LEIGH in Gone With The Wind.

Posh ... on Vogue cover

Nick Knight

Posh looked red hot just like the Hollywood queen’s Scarlett O’Hara character in the 1939 movie.

The classic film is famed for the line: “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.” But Posh obviously does.

She also seemed to have modelled her hair on royalty — the late PRINCESS MARGARET, shown aged 19.

Posh, 33, appears on the cover of Vogue mag, for the first time (April edition on sale Monday) and was dripping in diamonds

I don't remember Vivien Leigh's Scarlett "dripping in diamonds"

Handy that that cover will be out just as the posters go up in London and the previews begin.

Posh has as much chance in my eyes of ever playing Scarlett as Darius Danesh has of playing Rhett in the eyes the British public - but wait a minute,

............. could it actually happen?

I don't mind Victoria and David Beckham. They're ubiquitous, but at least they've made it on some talent.

I think Bonnie Langford would have made a good Scarlett about 15 or so years ago. She was really lovely at the stage door of Chicago but really looked her age and then some without her make-up :( I remeber someone posted(I think on WOS) they thought she was too old for the role of Roxy, and as good as she was, I have to agree.

In the film Chicago, I also thought CZJ should have played Roxy and not Velma, as she was far more beautiful than the attractive, but much more plane RZ.

I thought it worked becauseVelma was the showgirl Roxie aspired to be.

She was certainly a more accomplished singer. Was that CZJ's actual voice? If so she was pretty good, although I realise no one was singing live in the film.

I mean purely from a looks point of view BT. BF goes to find her and when he does he says something about her being "the cute one". For me RZ is ok but nothing compared to CZJ :naughty:

Amra Faye Wright as Velma and Sally Ann Triplett as Roxie?

Sally Ann was my favourite Roxie. I thought her comic timing and her expressions were absolutely superb.

I quite liked both at the time of Millionaire Manor, was it Debbie Kurup as Velma and Linzi Hately as Roxie?

I liked those as well. I think it was Linzi as Roxey. I did like that combination of Velma and Roxey very much.
