Oh good. I may need that as a direction beacon although one of the sites, theatremonkey (?) has got good directions from the tube.

It says things like "if you come to a 3 way crossroad, you're going the wrong way" which is very useful to know.

The theatre - no idea who the girl was.

That makes it look a bit better.

I'd rather have Darius and Jill up there though. The artwork's very clever but very impersonal.

They don't have to change it this way. It just doesn't have the appeal though. Maybe they'll put Darius and Jill picks downstairs.

Now that's one thing Chicago does very well. They create a different image for each of their stars but one which still fits the character and the way the actor/singer intends to play the role and then they use a whole series of those pictures in all kind of publicity.

Darius's Billy 's image fitted him to a T, classy and charming.

But the main sign at the Theatre stayed the same. I'm hoping they end up doing the same here. The flyers were very scarse and you felt that they were sitting waiting to be changed over.
I would rather have Darius and Jill up there also, it looks a bit impersonal notwithstanding that advertising the fact he is in it would do better I think for sales but so far in his career he seems to come in the back door regarding PR.

They had a massive poster featuring the stars above the maoin door and other big posters at ground level. Maybe GWTW will put up some huge posters with Jill and Darius, Edward and Madeleine and NaTasha and Jina.
It looks as though they easily could. I'd like the posters on the rail and underground stations changed to show Darius and Jill as well. Obviously not pushing the show on names at the moment except Margaret's and Trevor's

They have the biggest name on the posters already - Gone With the Wind.

I've always only reacted well to visual arts featuring animate beings. Abstract art leaves me cold. Always has.

Dont y ou think we would all do a better job for D and GWTW PR wise. Its back to what I said before about the observer and the guardian and the upmarket angle now we have classic fm also doing the upmarket angle but cutting out a lot of other people. I do think tv needs to be there soon. noticed a couple of days ago loose women had the star from the jersey boys on publicising it, however did anyone see the pictures of carol mcgiffin and denise welch and he nolan sister at the tv awards showing off what they shouldnt, . At least jane mcdonald had the sense to keep out of it.I would think after that d should keep away, they would have him for breakfast.!!!

Jersey Boys had finished its previews and opened this week. It's a full month until GWTW is in that position. Mind you, I hope we don't have to wait that long to see Darius back on TV.
people seem to be on talking about their musicals after they have opened, so there is plenty of time for D to appear - sooner rather than later I hope!

I like that.

Jill and Darius

Yesterday I visited Tara, or rather the model set of this O'Hara plantation mansion. It was the rehearsal-room launch for the new Gone With The Wind musical, and the cast and production team were there to tell us about their new show. John Napier, the designer, explained they have gone back to the original book for the plot, place, time and characters, avoiding the Hollywood gloss of the film. He is transforming the New London Theatre into an authentic environment that will amaze when you enter the theatre - the seats surround half the circular stage, and verandas, balconies and walkways reach out into the auditorium. Andreane Neofitou, who has designed the costumes, told us how she has added extra colour to the clothes of the period, to complement the natural earthy colours of the set. Trevor Nunn was excited to be directing his largest production in many years, equivalent to Les Mis and Cats in scale but with an originality quite different from the film. It was then time for musical director Gareth ValentineOutsource-Valentines-Day to accompany the cast in examples of the musical numbers, stirring ensemble pieces, romantic ballads or sad songs of changing times. Madeleine Worral (Melanie) and Edward Baker-Duly (Ashley) sang with feeling and sensitivity, but it was Jill Paice (Scarlett) and Darius Danesh (Rhett) who really raised the temperature with their passionate duet and lingering kiss! I must not overlook NaTasha Yvette Williams as a strongly emotional Mammy, nor the energetic cast of soldiers and slaves who filled the stage-space with their dancing and raised the roof of Tara with their voices. The show will be an entirely theatrical experience, involving and emotional, owing nothing to the movie, but how they will set the place aflame for that 'burning of Atlanta' climax which everyone remembers, that must remain a secret until Opening Night - John Napier's lips were sealed but the sparkle in his eye suggested he still had a few tricks up his sleeve.

For those of you who haven't yet booked with us - sorry, our tickets have gone with the wind!

That is great and should be on WOS and dress circle for promo purposes.
