I'm not sure I like what I'm reading between the lines there.

If the critics had bothered to get off their butts to see Darius in Chicago and/or Guys and Dolls, instead of scoffing at the stunt casting, they'd have a better idea of his capabilities and wouldn't need to speculate on the basis of second-hand opinions of reality TV shows they were evidently much too good to lower themselves to watch.

They probably didn't see his performance BECAUSE he started in a talent contest all those years ago. Since when has Darius ever had it easy?

And yet the fanfare for Duncan James went on and on - and even more so for Kelly Osbourne. Those 2, plus more justifiably Bonnie Langford and Denise Van Outen, got the lion's share of the media coverage from the 10th Anniversary Show.

But people who were there know that Darius stood out. Chicago people also probably knew that DEarius wouldn't be Billy Flynn for a while. Duncan was the current Billy.

Haven't they got him that visa yet? Jeff McCarthy's doing it for another couple of months. Doesn't bode well for D's chances for a transfer in the future. It's the US equity who are the bugbear.

Usual problem, the UK lets anybody in but their home countries have all these rules and regulations to keep jobs for 'their' people.

But absolutely right for the Civil War era which makes it stupid. Next they'll be painting tattoos on him.

For me the more wavy) hair Darius has on his head the better. That's why my own fantasy roles for him were always period roles.
Couldnt find the posts about the chest hair but it is ongoing, Someone on WOS is now saYing it cant be his own as there is a picture of his and jill without it!! they obviously need to see some previous picture before GWTW.

as for the chest hair thing - jealousy again! we have so many pictures of him to prove his chest is indeed hairy..but I can't be bothered with those sorts of posts, there was one abouit stick on tashes too..funny how there arent any about Jill's wig ehh......its a man jealousy thing I think.

I just think, Does it matter? hE HAPPENS TO HAVE A HAIRY CHEST. hE CAN ALWAYS SHAVE IT IF HE NEEDS TO. I'll have to do something with my fingers and the cap key.

It doesn't alter who he is or what he can do. Different tastes that's all. I got the feeling tha\t it was def. a joke on the thread and it made me laugh too.

yes one was a joke, a caption to the poster of them both.

I thought you were shouting about his chest then for a moment..LOL

I see it as if that is the only gripe or dig you can scrape up..get over it.

In the US they'll probably go with the shaved look. On stage, the shirt is done up higher.

I don't see what the fuss is about - other than, as I said before, all the stuff about "he can't sing live and/or he can't act" have been blown away at the early previews and all his detractors are left with is personal attack in any form. The use of that picture on an american board and then it being maliciously reposted on every active thread on that board, was by someone who admitted he knew about Popstars but nothing else about Darius because he hadn't followed his career.

As for the argument that the theatre going public shouldn't give him a chance because he came from reality TV. Paranoid!

Re D's natural chest, surely it's an asset for him as an actor. If they want hairy they can have it, if they want smooth that can be arranged and various grades of trimming in between.

I agree. It's hard to grow if you don't have any. We'd be stuck if they wanted us with hairy chests.
