They still had some of the body of the company to cast though.

I've been trying to work out how many speaking parts they need and there are quite a lot.

 

As you say other than the big 6 there are Scarlett's parents, Belle Watling, Doctor and Mrs Meade, Aunt PittyPat, Uncle Peter ?( her coachman), India Wilkes, Suellen O'Hara, Frank Kennedy, Charles Hamilton

 

Who else do you think is vital?

I reckon the Tarleton Twins would probably come from the ensemble.

You'd have to have at least Will, maybe Sam, poosibly Archie. It all depends on which bits they are going to skip.

They managed to eradicate Will from the film but he's more important in the book.

I found him a really good character. One of the decent people.

Yes he should be in the musical.

I can always hope. How many one legged actors who sing well are there?

Would they strap up an actor's leg? That would be really uncomfortable.

And it just may keep showing. I just think of Monty Python.

Was there a sketch about that ?

They had one legged man whose leg was just stuck out the back and the wooden leg was attached to his knee

pehaps they better leave him out, not wanting to be non PC but - one legged people always bring Dudly Moore to mind..

I don't remember a sketch with Dudley More.

Once a student, always a student. He read a lot of Damon Runyon's stories before Guys and Dolls. I read the one that the story of Sky and Sarah Brown was based on. It had a very different slant.

As long as he follows direction. Mind you, it is always good to have some background - even if the show ends up not including it.
