The Aussie pop star was approached to hand over the gong after striking up a close friendship with Sir Paul in recent weeks. "Macca will be chuffed. He and Kylie have grown close," a source told The Sun. "They hit it off when they duetted at Jools Holland's Hootenanny on New Year's Eve." McCartney will perform a medley of his best-known hits at the end of the ceremony, which takes place on Wednesday night. February 16, 200817 yr Ok I suppose, rekindle his friendship from New Year :D , however personally I would have chosen someone from the 60's. Possibly Mick Jagger or even Ringo.
