Rihanna’s Don’t Stop the Music topped the singles chart yesterday on digital sales alone. The historic feat is another nail in the coffin of the physical single. Many record stores no longer stock singles. Don’t Stop the Music has been belatedly released as a CD single this week, although the physical sales will only count towards next week’s charts. ARIA, which compiles Australia’s charts, included digital and physical sales in singles charts from last October. Don’t Stop the Music is Rihanna’s third Australian No.1 single.
