No - they're just for the show - but they've given us the train tickets and are putting us up in a hotel thats a ten minute walk from the venue! I'm getting a bit nervous now - if I'm honest - I've got a horrible feeling that now I'm going - Take That won't win anything this year (I don't think they would have won anything anyway - the organisers of the Brits do not like Take That - they were peed off last year when Patience got best single). And I'm not the kind of person to jostle through a crowd to get to a few celebs - even if some of them are Take That! I could endure Sharon and Ozzy for a week if only the boys win the award they do truly deserve - best Live Act. I think apart from Leona and Mika - its going to be an indie night (let's hope its a 'pretty' indie night though - with the Kaisers coming away with something!) Norma Going out now - will be back to support t*ts on scissors later!

February 22, 200817 yr Author Hey Norma!! So did you have a fab evening?? Had a great time. The radio station (Wish FM) were so generous - our hotel was fabulous! We were just a bit rushed though - we didn't check into the hotel until just before 6 pm so by the time we got freshened up, it was knocking on for 7. We decided to skip looking at who was on the Red Carpet and went straight to our seats (got chatting to some other competition winners from other stations - that was nice). Take That winning the first award of the night got us off to a good start. Was glad they got Best British Single seeing as they were robbed of the Best British Album award. I really would like to have seen the Kaiser Chiefs get Best Band - the Monkeys are so up themselves - they think they're being cool and all they are is downright rude. We (and loads of people around us) absolutely adored the Kaiser Chiefs performance of Ruby and yet some posters on here have said their performance was rubbish - well it must have come over bad on TV - because inside Earls Court it was terrific. Amy was awful - I don't know what they showed on TV - but it cannot have been what me and the people around me saw. It was like car-crash TV. She was hammered out of her head on something. I did like her tartan basque though. First decent thing I've won in my life! Norma

We knew Kylie had won best international female when we saw David Tennant was presenting. If I'm being truthful - of the nominations - Rihanna should have won the category - I think she's done more to prove herself over 2007 and into 2008 than Kylie has (yes I know Kylie's lovely and everyone adores her - but on musical merit - she didn't deserve that award). Mind you - the nominations were bizarre - Bjork for heavens sake! Where were Beyonce, Shakira, Fergie, even Anastacia! I still think Kaisers should have got Best British Band and TT Best British Album (apparently there was only a handful of votes between FWN and BW). But it was a good night - the hotel was brilliant and the area we were staying in was great too! Norma
February 23, 200817 yr I THOUGHT RIHANNA would win but to be fair it took kylie almost 15 years to win her first brit,kylie had many years like rihanna where she was huge and still didnt get the award so on the basis of how much kylie has showed diversity on the x album she deserved it thoroughly kylie was singing live the backing track was played also,the wow wow wow style parts werent live but the others part were live as i know her live voice inside out now
February 23, 200817 yr I liked the Kaisers performance, but that was it! Ricky is soooo much better running round the stage!! I do wish they could have won something though. And I have to say I enjoyed Amy's performance!!! What happened with Vic Reeves though??? I thought he was just being a prat, but someone said the auto-cue might have buggered up??!
February 23, 200817 yr Author I watched the tape my husband made last night. We did chuckle at the Arctic Monkeys dig at the Brits School (sorry - I hate stage schools of any sort - they do tend to breed precocious brats - and its the one thing I liked about the Monkeys that night). I must say - on the recording - I did enjoy the Amy bit (Valerie) but I swear - on the night, in Earls Court - it sounded dreadful. I'm so glad Mika got his prize - well deserved. And as I've said before - Kaisers should have got 'best band' gong. I thought their performance was fab - don't care what some people on BJ have said. Why don't the Kaisers have a forum here? Or is there a hidden one I don't know about? It would be my second home if there is! Norma
