Posted February 20, 200817 yr are now on youtube This link's to the one about Darius as Rhett, inks to the other 2 on that page. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dk01FKQnnEE...feature=related It' s nice to put faces to the names in the cerative team too. confused again? Should I have put it in the GWTW photo thread.
February 20, 200817 yr I like that. I agree with them. He is brilliant and reading the book, I could just see him as Rhett.
February 20, 200817 yr Author Do you think these might be more of a teaser ........................from a TV documentary programme maybe. It's funny they're not on the actual GWTWthemusical site.
February 20, 200817 yr Wouldn't that be good? I guess thjat'd be a definae night in with Dad chained to a chair.
February 20, 200817 yr Author Are you feeling alright tonight? Wanting to slaughter pam and tie your poor father-in-law to a chair.......it's not like you!
February 20, 200817 yr Leave it here for now I'll merge it with the photo/info one later. Bringing this over form .net:- Here's a transcription as well : Trevor Nunn - Director The search went on both in England and America, and eventually late one evening, somebody walked into the audition room who I had never seen before in the whole of my life, and he was 6 foot 4, and he had black hair, and very dark brown eyes and a very mischievous expression, and I was completely bowled over by the appearance of this young gentleman. Then he started to sing, sensational, sensationally powerful voice. Gareth Valentine - Musical Supervisor/Arranger He sings like a dream, he came into the auditions, opened his mouth and sang, and on each consequent audition got better and better. He was just so malleable that in leaps and bounds by the final audition there was no question that this was to be our Rhett Butler. Aldo Scrofani - Producer/Executive Producer If you were going to be Rhett Butler, there was a sense of Rhett, Rhett is about the future, Rhett was what was going to be America, can an actor who isn't an American embrace that? Well we found a great actor. Colin Ingram - Producer/General Manager We searched high and low for our Rhett Butler and I think probably many of the viewers were surprised when Trevor Nunn cast Darius Danesh but it was a very very simple decision. I think that Darius came into the auditions, he looked fantastic, he's 6 foot 3, it's important that he was tall, taller than the rest of the cast, that was his description in the book. He has to be slightly Italian, slightly different from the rest of the cast and Darius is half Iranian and half Scottish, and he has that darkness about him, and he had to sing and act brilliantly, well I think we all know that Darius is a great singer, he's a great singer live, and he is a brilliant actor. It's great to see what they thought.....I'm bursting with pride..and of course we knew this all years ago!!
February 20, 200817 yr I have to say I smiled at the..... eventually late one evening, somebody walked into the audition room Can't think why that tickled me :heehee: The more I hear and read the more I can't wait
February 21, 200817 yr It is so overwhelming to hear others who arent influenced by any tittle tattle - an dwho know their business talk about Daiurs like this, Trevor Nunn also saw that aura didnt he..as Simon Cowell once said, when Darius walks into a room everyone notices! February 21, 200817 yr Author Maybe we're being unfair to Darius -maybe it was late one evening because he'd just got off a flight from LA and come straight from the airport to the auditions.
February 21, 200817 yr Oopps don't take me the wrong way......I'm sure he wasn't late for the audition and the time was just late evening it was how it was written and it just made me smile...one of those loving, knowing smiles on past memories of a tall, dark, talented young man running past us saying 'Sorry guys, I can't stop I'm late'
February 21, 200817 yr Author Oopps don't take me the wrong way......I'm sure he wasn't late for the audition and the time was just late evening it was how it was written and it just made me smile...one of those loving, knowing smiles on past memories of a tall, dark, talented young man running past us saying 'Sorry guys, I can't stop I'm late' Ah but he's always so lovely with it and makes up for it. I wonder what he sang at that first audition.. It couldn't be anything from Chicago or Guys and Dolls because they don't need a "sensationally powerful" voice. If it's one of his own, it must be a new one.
February 21, 200817 yr I don't think he'd have time to be late in this. One thing - I bet it's another where he doesn't come on for the first 20 mins or so.
February 21, 200817 yr Author No, this time I think he'll have to break his usual pattern and get his butt onto that stage a bit sooner for the Twelve Oaks' barbecue scene. Even if Scarlett only refers to him in conversation at the barbecue, the Gents' war discussion and the library scene will surely not be omitted and those come near the beginning.
February 21, 200817 yr I have noticed a decided lack of comments now, it started with the usual negatives..then some positives, and now its as if the naysayers can't really think of anything else, a couple of swipes at the writer, a pop or two at the "music" I have looked at the forums I have found, and they have come to a halt..running out of negative remarks me thinks or was it just the few that always made the noise, not the many we are led to beleive
