Maybe they're a little less sure of their ground and just sitting on the fence waiting to come down on the right side when they're sure they know which one it is.

Perhaps it's sunk in that even people like Michael Ball go to auditions for parts in the big new musicals and that Darius was one of many who took his chance, performed well enough to be recalled again and again, as others here and in America fell by the way and finally was Rhett Butler.

The early objections were that he was

Popstars Darius, so totally talentless.

too young - some justification maybe if they hadn't seen him as Billy or Sky

a celeb - the producer needed to hang the production on a TV name to get the money

one of a very poor field of applicants

bringing the production's status down, because of his links to reality TV and pop.

I think since Darius himself spoke and now Trevor Nunn etc., they have laid all of those to rest. It's clear the whole team were involved in finding their Rhett and absolutely thrilled by both the singing and acting talent of the man they chose and they have great faith in him.

I'd like to see pics of Melanie and Ashley, Gerald and Ellen as well - they are so important to the story as well.
Most things are better than ready brek. I think a promise of going to see Darius do anything in the morning gets me ready to go quicker thananything else.

I'm going to try to see Darius near the beginning of his run, some time in Summer and towards the end if I can. I did that with Chicago. Guys and Dolls came at an inconvenient time and my plans didn't work out.

If he does any gigs on Sundays, I'm going to try to get to every single one if it's at all possible.

I don't think he'll have the energy to do gigs. I would love to hear his new music though. I think we'll have to settle for the cast recording of 'Gone With The Wind' for a while. It was pointed out to me that 'Lord of the Rings' was probably late as it wasn't the original cast - that was in Canada. So, I'm still hoping for an early cd from that. The fact that they are putting a sound bit on the official site is making me very optimistic.

Shouldn't Jill Paice lead the cast list with Darius second ?

OR Is it that they are equal as leads but he comes first alphabetically when they're listed?

I've no idea. I do like it tha way though. I don't think we could judge before we've seen it.
He did. But that doesn't mean they come over as the main lead. It just leaves us to see how much of a pull Rhett has on the story.
From a publicity point of view I think D would draw more bums on seat purely because Jill Paice is an american actress and not that well known here, just my opinion, thats why I would like to see some posters up of the ilk of chicago but they are slow in the promo department.
She's quite well known in theatre circles. I think the male character is the forceful one here though.

However they're billed, I think they'll set the stage alight - not literally I hope, remembering the burning of Atlanta.

Hopefully this week coming will see some more publicity, new posters....photos in costume.......

...perhaps they may be waiting for the beginning of March before doing anything......4 weeks before previews?

There are 2 months before the show officially starts....

What happened for Wicked....can anyone remember?

I went to previews for Wicked. There was a lot of publicity but most of it centered on the Broadway show. This, being totally new, wont have that to fall back on.

We'll just have to wait for Darius and Jill. I'm looking forward to it even more. She comes over as such a lovely, normal person. It's nice if you actually like the people you are supporting. I need to see some of the other characters as well now, as real people as well preferably.
