To celebrate my 100th chart week i'm going to be counting down my 100 favourite songs ever to chart in TOTB. This first installment sees songs 100-76 counted down, and may include a few surprises for a few of you. This section of the chart surprisingly contains 4 no.1s, as well as a further 14 top 5 hits! Enjoy, and be sure to look out for 75-51 tomorrow!

http://img125.imageshack.us/img125/2846/100otbnumberszn9.png Feeder - Save Us
Entered Chart: 10-07-06
Chart Peak: 4
Not Feeder's best song by any stretch of the imagination, and in fact this has been their only song to enter my chart to date

http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/3936/100otbnumbersms9.png Embrace - Target
Entered Chart: 31-07-06
Chart Peak: 2
Although not quite as epic as their other releases from their 2006 'This New Day' album, Target was still a decent slice of infectious indie-pop

http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/5184/100otbnumbersrc6.png Ordinary Boys - Boys Will Be Boys
Entered Chart: 20-03-06
Chart Peak: 7
Spent a solitary week in my first ever chart back in March 2006. A good song, but by the time my chart had started this song was already quite old

http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/9260/100otbnumbersba6.png Young Knives - Up All Night
Entered Chart: 28-01-08
Chart Peak: 3
Having only entered this month, this cracker from TOTB debutants Young Knives recently climbed deservedly into the top 3. It gets released next month

http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/6705/100otbnumberseh8.png Muse - Supermassive Black Hole
Entered Chart: 19-06-06
Chart Peak: 7
The first release from their 'Black Holes & Revelations' album saw them unfortunately fail to reach my top 5. All but 1 release from that album charted in TOTB

http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/5624/top5vc8.png

http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/3153/100otbnumbersoo3.png Pigeon Detectives - I Found Out
Entered Chart: 15-10-07
Chart Peak: 6
Probablies not the best release from their 'Wait For Me' album. This was only their second ever TOTB hit, and also their highest charting one

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/8465/100otbnumbersal4.png The Zutons - Why Don't You Give Me Your Love
Entered Chart: 20-03-06
Chart Peak: 9
Another song that featured in the first ever chart. Didn't do as well as it perhaps should have, but it still remains one of the Zutons better singles

http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/4865/100otbnumberswm9.png Pigeon Detectives - Take Her Back
Entered Chart: 30-07-07
Chart Peak: 8
One of my faves from the album, though it didn't quite make up for 'I'm Not Sorry' not charting. This is the 2nd and last Pigeon Detectives song in the countdown

http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/4590/100otbnumberspp7.png Gnarls Barkley - Crazy
Entered Chart: 27-03-06
Chart Peak: 6
Despite being murdered by continuous airplay back in spring/summer 2006, there's no doubting that this is an unforgetable modern classic

http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/2310/100otbnumberssk9.png The Kooks - Always Where I Need To Be
Entered Chart: 11-02-08
Chart Peak: 5 (to date)
The newest song in the top 100 countdown may not rank among the Kooks' best, but it is extremely catchy and will be sure to score them another top 5 hit

http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/6956/top5ua5.png

http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/8300/100otbnumbersfb1.png Ordinary Boys - I Luv U
Entered Chart: 11-12-06
Chart Peak: 2
Thanks to the slow post-christmas period, this tongue-in-cheek love song managed to climb into the top 3. Love the piss-take video as well

http://img85.imageshack.us/img85/1563/100otbnumbersab3.png Coldplay - The Hardest Part
Entered Chart: 03-04-06
Chart Peak: 3
The final release from their no.1 'X & Y' album is currently their only TOTB to date. Although it did nothing sales-wise, it's well known for its clever video

http://img519.imageshack.us/img519/1629/100otbnumbersqp1.png The Automatic - Recover
Entered Chart: 04-09-06
Chart Peak: 4
This re-release of their debut was the follow-up to 2006 summer smash 'Monster', and will always remind me of my first week at university

http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/5813/100otbnumberspp8.png Hard-Fi - Can't Get Along (Without You)
Entered Chart: 10-09-07
Chart Peak: 1 [3 weeks: 1st - 21st October]
The first no.1 in the countdown isn't necessarily a bad song, or the worst no.1 i've had, but it's been killed by overplay (my fault) and so i've gone off it

http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/7931/100otbnumberscs5.png The Kooks - Ooh La
Entered Chart: 25-09-07
Chart Peak: 5
The final release from 'Inside In/Inside Out' was arguably their weakest. It was still a good song, however, even if the video for it didn't make any sense

http://img139.imageshack.us/img139/938/top5sw0.png

http://img223.imageshack.us/img223/3774/100otbnumberswr6.png Ordinary Boys vs Lady Sovereign - Nine2Five
Entered Chart: 08-05-06
Chart Peak: 1 [2 weeks: 29th May - 11th June]
The second Ordinary Boys release to chart did considerably better than the first, and managed to hang around all summer

http://img155.imageshack.us/img155/3584/100otbnumbersmq6.png Editors - Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors
Entered Chart: 28-05-07
Chart Peak: 4
Editors' highest charting TOTB single to date is easily one of my faves by them, and fully deserved its top 5 status

http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/1856/100otbnumbersri8.png Snow Patrol ft. Martha Wainwright - Set The Fire To The Third Bar
Entered Chart: 16-10-06
Chart Peak: 1 [1 week: 6th - 12th November]
One of the weaker releases from their 'Eyes Open' was still epic, but its questionable now whether or not it deserved to peak as high as no.1

http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/4342/100otbnumbersgf4.png Red Hot Chili Peppers - Dani California
Entered Chart: 25-04-06
Chart Peak: 2
This catchy single was the first release from 'Stadium Arcadium' and managed to peak at no.2 in its first week before slowly falling out of the chart

http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/6273/100otbnumberstc6.png The Enemy - Had Enough
Entered Chart: 04-06-07
Chart Peak: 7
After 'Away From Here' was missed out of the chart after me getting into it a bit too late, this follow-up became their first of 5 consecutive TOTB hits for The Enemy

http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/8360/top5nj1.png

http://img142.imageshack.us/img142/8691/100otbnumbersvf4.png Bedouin Soundclash - When The Night Feels My Song
Entered Chart: 02-10-06
Chart Peak: 2
Say what you like about the song, I still think its a great chillout tune. Was one of 4 different songs kept off no.1 by 'America'

http://img340.imageshack.us/img340/268/100otbnumbersno5.png Dirty Pretty Things - Bang, Bang, You're Dead
Entered Chart: 10-04-06
Chart Peak: 6
You couldn't escape this song back in summer 2006! A great song, and it'll always remind me of watching the preperations for our 2006 World Cup failure

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/6969/100otbnumberseb1.png Embrace - Nature's Law
Entered Chart: 20-03-06
Chart Peak: 1 [1 week: 20th - 26th March]
Has the honour of being the very first ever TOTB no.1, although admittedly it isn't the best i've had nor is it my favourite Embrace single from 'This New Day'

http://img128.imageshack.us/img128/2485/100otbnumbersfe7.png The Feeling - Sewn
Entered Chart: 20-03-06
Chart Peak: 3
This one was quite hit-and-miss for me. I'd like it, then hate it, then like it again etc. After peaking quite high in its first week, it fell out of the chart quickly

http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/6094/100otbnumbersfe2.png Hard-Fi - Suburban Knights
Entered Chart: 09-07-07
Chart Peak: 3
In retrospect, perhaps calling it 'Average' was a bit harsh. To date, it's arguably their best release from 'Once Upon A Time In The West'

This second part of the biggest countdown i've ever done manages to improve on the first. 7 no.1s, a further 6 no.2s and all but 5 of the rest are top 5 hits. Tomorrow's edition features another 25 of the best, namely no.s 50 to 26

http://img260.imageshack.us/img260/4602/top5co3.png

http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/7412/100otbnumbersmr6.png Reverend & The Makers - Open Your Window
Entered Chart: 22-10-07
Chart Peak: 2
Very under-rated single from Rev this. My second fave release from their 'State Of Things' album managed to climb up to the dizzy heights of the top 3

http://img259.imageshack.us/img259/4216/100otbnumberspr6.png Scouting For Girls - Elvis Ain't Dead
Entered Chart: 26-11-07
Chart Peak: 4
This top 5 smash was Scouting For Girls' TOTB debut after the disappointing 'It's Not About You' and 'She's So Lovely' failed to chart at all

http://img169.imageshack.us/img169/3505/100otbnumbersdk6.png Keane - Crystal Ball
Entered Chart: 03-07-06
Chart Peak: 1 [1 week: 14th - 20th August]
Keane's second TOTB no.1 (and their 2nd of 3 consecutive no.1s) was absolutely everywhere in summer 2006. Which probs explains why it went to no.1

http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/7421/100otbnumberszu5.png Kaiser Chiefs - Everything Is Average Nowadays
Entered Chart: 23-04-07
Chart Peak: 1 [2 weeks: 30th April - 13th May]
Sandwiched between 2 Arctic Monkeys no.1s, this now thoroughly average release kept Snow Patrol's 'Signal Fire' off the top spot. Killed by overplay

http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/3886/100otbnumbersem6.png The Cribs - Our Bovine Public
Entered Chart: 24-09-07
Chart Peak: 2
This was released alongside the cracking 'Don't You Wanna Be Relevant', which tbh should have gone into the chart instead. Still a good song, though

http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/5372/top5ly6.png

http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/3729/100otbnumbersck3.png The View - Face For The Radio
Entered Chart: 04-06-07
Chart Peak: 2
This chilled number from Buzzjack's favourite band was my fave from their album at one point. I still really like it, but perhaps top 2 is pushing it a bit

http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/5471/100otbnumberswh9.png The Automatic - Monster
Entered Chart: 14-08-06
Chart Peak: 7
Not quite sure why this didn't chart in the top 5, because I loved it at the time. It'll always remind me of summer 2006 every time I hear it

http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/384/100otbnumbersmm9.png Arcade Fire - Intervention
Entered Chart: 07-05-07
Chart Peak: 7
My favourite release from the 3 excellent 'Neon Bibles' that charted, this uplifting hit really deserved better than its no.7 peak

http://img20.imageshack.us/img20/6929/100otbnumbersiu3.png Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder
Entered Chart: 23-04-07
Chart Peak: 8
Surprisingly, this was the only release from 'Won't Be Soon Before Long' that actually charted. Not my fave Maroon 5 song to date, but decent nonetheless

http://img412.imageshack.us/img412/6365/100otbnumbersvo2.png Klaxons - It's Not Over Yet
Entered Chart: 04-06-07
Chart Peak: 1 [2 weeks: 11th - 24th June]
Klaxons' cover of the 90s dance classic saw them keep 'Fluorescent Adolescent' off no.1 for 2 weeks last summer. A good song, but 2 weeks?!?!

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/4515/top5od4.png

http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/5853/100otbnumbersnl9.png Arctic Monkeys - The View From The Afternoon
Entered Chart: 20-03-06
Chart Peak: 2
Interesting fact: Had this been released as a full single, it would have knocked Gnarls Barkley's 'Crazy' off no.1! Prime Arctics - great song with a cracking vid

http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/6052/100otbnumberslz9.png The Kooks - She Moves In Her Own Way
Entered Chart: 22-05-06
Chart Peak: 1 [4 weeks: 19th June - 16th July]
The third Kooks song in my countdown and their second song to enter my chart. It ranks among their best, even if it was murdered by airplay back in summer 06

http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/5803/100otbnumberslc8.png The Gossip - Standing In The Way Of Control
Entered Chart: 26-02-07
Chart Peak: 7
This, the Gossips biggest hit to date, was written about gay rights in America and gained recognition by being featured on the hit E4 show 'Skins'

http://i27.tinypic.com/ruo0mu.png Maxïmo Park - Girls Who Play Guitars
Entered Chart: 16-07-07
Chart Peak: 4
'Girls Who Play Guitars' was the third song to be taken from 'Our Earthly Pleasures' and was a good choice for a single. Cack video though

http://i32.tinypic.com/292bhfq.png The Killers - When You Were Young
Entered Chart: 11-09-06
Chart Peak: 2
The first single from 'Sam's Town' was one of the 4 songs to be kept off no.1 by 'America', and to date is one of the Killers best singles

http://i26.tinypic.com/wasm83.png

http://i31.tinypic.com/2wfipsk.png The Fratellis - Baby Fratelli
Entered Chart: 21-01-07
Chart Peak: 4
Love this one for two reasons; firstly, it's taken from the soundtrack to 'Hot Fuzz' and secondly, that amazing opening guitar riff. Should have been top 3, tbh

http://i30.tinypic.com/1tkb2h.png Stereophonics - My Friends
Entered Chart: 12-11-07
Chart Peak: 1 [3 weeks: 26th November - 16th December]
'My Friends' saw the Stereophonics score their 2nd consecutive TOTB no.1 after this climbed to the top just 2 months after 'It Means Nothing' went to no.1

http://i30.tinypic.com/23uwyzp.png Foals - Cassius
Entered Chart: 21-01-08
Chart Peak: 3 (to date)
After entering the top 5 last month, it's had a month-long wait but it's finally broken into the top 3. It would be in contention for no.1 if MGMT and WAS weren't around

http://i26.tinypic.com/2gwt3ia.png Keane - The Night Sky
Entered Chart: 01-10-07
Chart Peak: 3
This flopped unfairly in the UK charts, especially seeing as how the proceeds were going directly to the charity 'Warchild'. It went straight into my top 3, however

http://i28.tinypic.com/15cyi2s.png Arctic Monkeys - Teddy Picker
Entered Chart: 01-10-07
Chart Peak: 1 [2 weeks: 12th - 25th November]
The weakest of the 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' releases, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's a bad song. Quite the opposite infact. Their worst vid to date, though

http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/3733/top5dj9.png

http://img512.imageshack.us/img512/8791/100otbnumbersup9.png Switches - Lay Down The Law
Entered Chart: 11-04-07
Chart Peak: 6
Really liked this very under-rated hit, not sure why I didn't put it in the top 5. Still do like it, just its simplicity. The fact it sounds better played loud helps too

http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/2125/100otbnumbersgq7.png The Feeling - Fill My Little World
Entered Chart: 01-05-06
Chart Peak: 3
Incredibly cheesy but infuriatingly catchy, there was no escaping this song back in May 2006. It may have only peaked at no.3, but it spent a while in my chart

http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/7759/100otbnumbersnh0.png Embrace - Nature's Law
Entered Chart: 09-10-06
Chart Peak: 1 [1 week: 30th October - 5th November]
Storming riffs, edgy lyrics and an incredible video meant that this was an instant hit and it stormed to no.1 just a few weeks after entering the chart

http://img207.imageshack.us/img207/6219/100otbnumbersad0.png The Thrills - Midnight Choir
Entered Chart: 24-09-07
Chart Peak: 5
Really can't explain why I like this as much as I do. This is the only Thrills hit to make an appearance in my chart and it's by far my fave by them to date

http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/451/100otbnumberslt0.png Babyshambles - Delivery
Entered Chart: 27-08-07
Chart Peak: 2
Doesn't quite compare to the likes of 'Can't Stand Me Now' or 'Don't Look Back Into The Sun' but it's easily my favourite Babyshambles song to date

The first 25 rated at 186/250 for me, let's see this 25 :o

170/250  Definate highlights from Arctics and The Thrills, but i get the feeling the best is still to come B)

The third and final 25-song section features a further 11 no.1s and 23 of them are from the top 5. Either way, we're nearing the top end of the chart and so the songs can only keep improving! Tomorrow will feature songs 25 to 11, with the top 10 posted on Monday alongside the 100th Chart!

http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/7419/100otbnumbersed4.png The Zutons - Valerie
Entered Chart: 22-05-06
Chart Peak: 3
Another anthem from Summer 2006 saw the Zutons score their highest charting hit to date when 'Valerie' stormed into the top 3

http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/2505/100otbnumberszy4.png Keane - Is It Any Wonder
Entered Chart: 25-04-06
Chart Peak: 1 [1 week: 12th - 18th June]
Keane's first release from no.1 album 'Under The Iron Sea' gifted them their first of three consecutive no.1s and four consecutive top 3 hits

http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/9548/100otbnumbersxl8.png Reverend & The Makers - Heavyweight Champion Of The World
Entered Chart: 21-05-07
Chart Peak: 1 [1 week: 21st - 27th May]]
Reverend's first TOTB hit managed to keep the mighty Fluorescent Adolescent off the no.1 spot for a week back in May 07. Was one of only 2 one-week no.1s in 2007...

http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/7769/100otbnumbersum2.png Kasabian - Fast Fuse
Entered Chart: 23-07-07
Chart Peak: 1 [1 week: 13th - 19th August]
...and this was the other just 2 months later. This has the dubious honour of being the only TOTB no.1 to date that never got a full CD release

http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/7148/100otbnumbersgo4.png Red Hot Chili Peppers - Snow (Hey Oh)
Entered Chart: 30-10-06
Chart Peak: 8
Easily one of my fave Chilis songs, and the best release from 'Stadium Arcadium'. Really not sure why I didn't chart this higher. Should have been battling for no.1

http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/6321/top5tc1.png

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/9739/100otbnumbersxk6.png The Wombats - Moving To New York
Entered Chart: 03-12-07
Chart Peak: 1 [2 weeks: 31st December 2007 - 13th January 2008]
My fave Wombats song to date, this currently holds the record for "longest time taken to climb to no.1" - 7 weeks

http://img295.imageshack.us/img295/9480/100otbnumbersnq8.png Snow Patrol - You're All I Have
Entered Chart: 27-03-06
Chart Peak: 1 [4 weeks: 27th March - 30th April]
Only the second ever TOTB no.1, and it entered straight in there in my second chart week. This was the first of 3 Snow Patrol no.1s

http://img517.imageshack.us/img517/8579/100otbnumbersak0.png The Killers - Don't Shoot Me Santa
Entered Chart: 19-11-07
Chart Peak: 1 [2 weeks: 17th - 30th December]
A bit of Christmas silliness from the Killers saw them grab a much-deserved Christmas no.1 spot last year. Why am I the only one who loves this?

http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/2221/100otbnumberscr1.png Razorlight - In The Morning
Entered Chart: 08-05-06
Chart Peak: 2
WOWMFGASM yes a Razorlight song that DIDN'T get to no.1 in my chart. It did, however go close twice. Entering at no.2 then climbing back up to no.3 a month later

http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/9889/100otbnumbersrm5.png Fratellis - Ole Black n Blue Eyes
Entered Chart: 14-05-07
Chart Peak: 10
Shame this got released when the album had already been milked to death as its one of my faves from it. I cried when this was only given a 12" release

http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/7995/top5lc5.png

http://i30.tinypic.com/21l9avs.png The Coral - Put The Sun Back
Entered Chart: 10-12-07
Chart Peak: 1 [3 weeks: 14th January - 3rd February]
My second fave release from their superb 'Roots & Echoes' release saw the Coral get to no.1 on the third time of asking. Great song

http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/7426/100otbnumbersnu6.png Maxïmo Park - Books From Boxes
Entered Chart: 21-05-07
Chart Peak: 3
A sensible choice for a single, this features one of my fave lines ever; "from the air, stadium lights stand out like flares" written about the Stadium of Light

http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/1295/100otbnumbersjy8.png Modest Mouse - Dashboard
Entered Chart: 07-05-07
Chart Peak: 3
Modest Mouse's only TOTB hit to date has a superb vid that i'd rate among the best i've ever featured. Cracking song as well, so catchy

http://img245.imageshack.us/img245/6691/100otbnumbersfd6.png Arctic Monkeys - Brianstorm
Entered Chart: 12-03-07
Chart Peak: 1 [5 weeks: 26th March - 29th April]
The first single to be taken from 'Favourite Worst Nightmare' went to no.1 for 5 weeks, and was still in the top 5 when 'Fluorescent Adolescent' entered the chart

http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/3368/100otbnumbersmf1.png Kaiser Chiefs - Ruby
Entered Chart: 15-01-07
Chart Peak: 2
'Ruby' gave Kaisers their first UK no.1 (and as a result killed their album). It took its time but this insanely catchy number eventually climbed into the top 3

http://img256.imageshack.us/img256/7254/top5yo8.png

http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/9850/100otbnumbershe6.png Manic Street Preachers - Autumnsong
Entered Chart: 18-06-07
Chart Peak: 2
This was a big challenger for no.1 at the start of last summer, and is easily my favourite release from 'Send Away The Tigers'

http://i32.tinypic.com/k9upuw.png Primal Scream - Country Girl
Entered Chart: 01-05-06
Chart Peak: 1 [3 weeks: 1st - 28th May]
Primal Scream's only TOTB no.1 to date was a massive summer anthem back in 2006. It spent exactly half of its chart run at no.1

http://i30.tinypic.com/106fs4k.png Orson - No Tomorrow
Entered Chart: 20-03-06
Chart Peak: 2
Orson's highest charting hit to date saw them narrowly miss out on the very 1st no.1 spot. In retrospect, perhaps it would have been a better choice than Embrace

http://i32.tinypic.com/6qjs5t.png Ghosts - Stay The Night
Entered Chart: 05-03-07
Chart Peak: 4
Shame I didn't get to hear this cracker from under-rated band Ghosts sooner. After hearing it in the UK Top 40, I rushed it straight into my top 5

http://i31.tinypic.com/nqxst5.png Snow Patrol - Signal Fire
Entered Chart: 23-04-07
Chart Peak: 2
Loved this at the time, and it really should have earned Snow Patrol their 4th no.1. The video for this is dead clever as well

http://i27.tinypic.com/a4pkpt.png

http://i30.tinypic.com/dnf30h.png Muse Invincible
Entered Chart: 12-02-07
Chart Peak: 2
One of only a select group of songs that have the honour of having re-entered the top 10 after leaving it. Although, theirs was an accident after a mix-up with the charts

http://i26.tinypic.com/mvss3l.png The View - Same Jeans
Entered Chart: 18-12-06
Chart Peak: 1 [3 weeks: 1st - 21st January]
Despite annoying everyone eventually with the constant bum-raping it got on Radio 1, this really got 2006 off to a bang and deserved its three week spell at the top

http://i29.tinypic.com/14y0n6f.png Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger
Entered Chart: 18-09-06
Chart Peak: 2
Absolute anthem from the Fratellis saw them get to no.2 in its first week. This was also their TOTB debut, and sparked a run of 4 consecutive top ten hits

http://i26.tinypic.com/26429p5.png The Enemy - You're Not Alone
Entered Chart: 30-07-07
Chart Peak: 1 [3 weeks: 20th August - 9th September]
'You're Not Alone' was the follow-up to their top 5 hit 'Had Enough' and saw the Enemy claim 3 weeks at the top at the end of last summer. They've had 3 entries since

http://i27.tinypic.com/mma1oo.png Muse - Starlight
Entered Chart: 21-08-06
Chart Peak: 3
By far my favourite release from 'Black Holes & Revelations', this really should have challenged for no.1. This is another tune that reminds me of the first week of uni

This penultimate chunk of the chart will see us safely into the top 20 with songs 25 to 11 being the main focus of today's section. Seven no.1s, seven top 5s and a surprising entry from a song which didn't chart higher than no.10! The final part tomorrow will feature the top 10 and will be a live countdown, with tomorrow's 100th chart being posted straight afterwards.

http://i28.tinypic.com/2mr5pid.png Razorlight - Before I Fall To Pieces
Entered Chart: 27-11-06
Chart Peak: 1 [2 weeks: 18th - 31st December]
Grabbed the Christmas no.1 back in 2006, despite not being very christmassy. Easily Razorlight's best music video to date

http://i29.tinypic.com/9awrgy.png Kasabian - Empire
Entered Chart: 07-08-06
Chart Peak: 1 [3 weeks: 21st August - 10th September]
Love this video to bits, i'd rank it among the best i've seen. Cleverly made, it plays out like a short movie. The song's not too shabby either, best release from the album

http://i30.tinypic.com/2wr2m8h.png Travis - Selfish Jean
Entered Chart: 02-07-07
Chart Peak: 5
Can never for the life of me figure out why this wasn't the lead single from 'The Boy With No Name' as its superior to 'Closer' and the best song they released from it

http://i26.tinypic.com/qxtl6e.png The Kooks - Naïve
Entered Chart: 20-03-06
Chart Peak: 3
Arguably the Kooks' best song to date, just a shame it was killed by constant airplay at the beginning of 2006. Spent an age in my chart as well

http://i32.tinypic.com/oszclg.png Athlete - Hurricane
Entered Chart: 16-07-07
Chart Peak: 1 [2 weeks: 30th July - 12th August]
Loved this from the first time I heard it back in early July, and was originally planned to get a 7 or 8 week run at number one! Shame the video's utter crap

http://i26.tinypic.com/28qphw.png

http://i32.tinypic.com/6tlhs3.png Hadouken! - Liquid Lives
Entered Chart: 25-06-07
Chart Peak: 10
Spent all of two weeks in the chart, both at no.10. I really have no excuse for giving it the worst chart run in history as its an absolute anthem *hangs head in shame*

http://i32.tinypic.com/kegtpl.png Arctic Monkeys - Leave Before The Lights Come On
Entered Chart: 24-07-06
Chart Peak: 3
The lead taken from the superb 'Leave Before The Lights...' EP, which also features an awesome cover of 'Baby I'm Yours'. Love the video for this as well

http://i32.tinypic.com/2z5nddf.png The Feeling - Love It When You Call
Entered Chart: 23-10-06
Chart Peak: 2
My fave Feeling song, and it'll take some beating. Didn't get the same constant airplay as hits such as 'Fill My Little World', but that worked in its favour imo

http://i25.tinypic.com/2q9j2ba.png Stereophonics - It Means Nothing
Entered Chart: 13-08-07
Chart Peak: 1 [3 weeks: 10th - 30th September]
It's nowhere near my fave ever Stereophonics song, but it's a cracker. Always brings back good memories of last summer, and it has a well-made (if slightly confusing) video

http://i31.tinypic.com/29cngv8.png Klaxons - Gravity's Rainbow
Entered Chart: 26-03-07
Chart Peak: 2
Managed to climb to no.2 during the chart's 1st anniversary last year. This is my favourite single to date by Klaxons, and the best release from an incredible album

http://i32.tinypic.com/20ib6v8.png

http://i30.tinypic.com/15zh4cx.png Keane - A Bad Dream
Entered Chart: 25-12-06
Chart Peak: 3
This took almost a month to climb into the top 3 and embarassingly was kept off the no.2 spot by 'I Luv U'. Not even my fave release from 'Under The Iron Sea'!

http://i27.tinypic.com/2isjcbc.png MGMT - Time To Pretend
Entered Chart: 04-02-08
Chart Peak: 2
Any other week, this would have been challenging for a no.1 spot in my chart, just bad timing I guess. It's brilliant, but not my favourite song by them

http://i28.tinypic.com/6zwvmw.png Snow Patrol - Chasing Cars
Entered Chart: 15-05-06
Chart Peak: 1 [4 weeks: 17th July - 13th August]
You can rubbish it if you want, saying it's been played to death etc and tbf i'd agree. But you can't deny this was the song of the summer back in 2006 and one of Snow Patrol's best

http://i28.tinypic.com/qo7xy1.png We Are Scientists - After Hours
Entered Chart: 21-01-08
Chart Peak: 3 so far [4th February - present]
My favourite song of 2008 so far, and tbh it'll take something of Fluorescent Adolescent-esque proportions to beat it. Classic video as well

http://i25.tinypic.com/2yxnf2d.png Bloc Party - Flux
Entered Chart: 22-10-07
Chart Peak: 1 [3 weeks: 22nd October - 11th November]
The only Bloc Party song to chart in TOTB to date, and it'll probs be their last. It's an amazing song with a hilarious vid, shame I couldn't put it to no.1 for 13 weeks :kink:

Let's see how i rate 50-26 :w00t:

The View - Same Jeans - 10/10

Fratellis - Chelsea Dagger - 10/10

The Enemy - You're Not Alone - 7/10

And 25-11 so far :o

Bloc Party - Flux - 10/10 "shame I couldn't put it to no.1 for 13 weeks :kink:" :funky:

At last, 90 songs later we've finally arrived at the top 10! We've seen some good songs, some great songs and some classics on the way but this is where the good stuff is. This final chunk will be a live countdown, with each song being posted individually. There will also be a recap of all 99 songs just before the number one is revealed. So let's begin...

http://img405.imageshack.us/img405/7046/100otbnumbersjt6.png Embrace - I Can't Come Down
Entered Chart: 13-11-06
Chart Peak: 2
Embrace's best release from 'This New Day' would have been a number one if it hadn't flopped so badly in the UK charts. Powerful, emotive stuff
