March 16, 200817 yr It's really not hard to predict which song will win. The hard thing is to predict what kind of concept will win. After all, it's an all-in-one contest with songs from various genres, cultures, languages and ideas. I find it easy to compare two rock songs performed by typical rock bands, however I find it difficult to compare a rock song with a Balkan ballad, for example. They are two separate worlds and might both be equally outstanding. In other words, you can't compare things that are not comparable. For this reason, I'd like to point out the different criteria that Europe may have during the Final night, and the most probable winner according to each concept: - if people vote for the traditional light europop summer hit, it's gonna be Sweden or Ukraine. Or Armenia, if they want ethno sound in the formula; - if a meaningful ballad is to win again, then we have Switzerland as winner; - if the jokes/gimmicks are to take control of the contest, then next year ESC will be in Ireland; - if the regional/diasporra voting is on the top, then the winner is Russia. I could say Serbia as well, but it won't happen for a second time that fast; - if the public looks for something completely new and innovative, Bosnia&Herzegovina has the best chances, followed by Croatia, Bulgaria and Belgium; So this is it, for me the winner is not a mystery. It's Europe's mood that I'd like to know. :D Edited March 16, 200817 yr by Tomoe
March 17, 200817 yr very true Tomoe! Let's hope that they want a ballad (Switzerland, Norway) or Charlotte Perrelli
March 17, 200817 yr Well, I'm more for the unique and different entries. My favorite this year are Croatia and Moldova, I'd be happy to see those winning. I don't mind Bosnia as well. ;)

March 18, 200817 yr 1. Sweden - By far the best this year, very catchy, she has a very strong voice for live singing (I think that was the main reason why Selma didn't qualify a few years back - a good song and decent singer but in all fairness didn't do that well singing live, the same with Kate Ryan a bit also), and I have no doubt that Sweden will be able to create a very good show to support the track. With all the diaspora voting I doubt this will win but top five should be a piece of cake for this track. 2. Iceland - Catchy stuff, the only worry being how they will be singing live. 3. Latvia - Chipz/Vengaboys hybrid will stick into your head like glue. 4. Andorra - Last year they had a better act IMO (actually one of my favs last year) - This year basic pop but I prefer it to such other basic pop entries as Ukraine's and Czech's. 5. Ireland - Well, kinda funny but I bet it won't be for long and by the time of the competition I will be sick of hearing this but then again maybe not. TBH, there is no use doing a longer list. I still haven't bothered to listen about 15 tracks and find most of the songs not included in my top five very (even surprisingly) poor. Well, maybe some of them are growers.
