March 7, 200817 yr Author It's the one tune I wish they would use but the rights may be owned by the movie company. It was David O Selznick who hired everyone including the composer. I'm pretty sure song rights last for much longer in the US than here. Edited March 7, 200817 yr by Baytree
March 7, 200817 yr I can't comment as I never heard it. Maybe I'll have to watch the film after I've seen the show.
March 7, 200817 yr Author I'm sure there must be a soundtrack CD. Often on Amazon you can listen to clips of tracks of albums, not strangely enough Live Twice, though. I'm not sure about Dive In.
March 7, 200817 yr Author here's the link http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gone-Wind-Original...4736&sr=1-1 The main instrumental is called Tara's Theme
March 8, 200817 yr Author I can't get it out of my head. I find myself humming the tune at all hours. Serves meright for watching the film all the way through and the bonus features.
March 9, 200817 yr Author I was wondering if the scene where Rhett and Scarlett are walking with Bonnie (in her pram), charming all the Atlanta society matriarchs, might be one where they would come down through the audience.
March 10, 200817 yr Author Is it normal to name minor children on a website? Bonnie (and Ella) will need at least 3 girls each and similarly boys for Beau (and Wade) Wade and Ella did not feature in the film version.
March 10, 200817 yr If they had Bonny as an adult in the film, she may be a lot older than 4 in the play. She has to exist or else too many of the important story lines will be lost. I wonder if they do her conception (in the best possible taste)
March 11, 200817 yr Author If they had Bonny as an adult in the film, she may be a lot older than 4 in the play. She has to exist or else too many of the important story lines will be lost. I wonder if they do her conception (in the best possible taste) Bonny looked as if she was about 7 when she had the fatal accident in the film. I think they'd have to leave the conception to our imagination but I do hope they do the preceding nightcap and aftermath scene.
March 11, 200817 yr It's hard to see how much they could leave out. That bit is important to Scarlett beginning to doubt her feelings about Rhett.
March 13, 200817 yr Author Aw I'm at page 879. Oh I really hope they keep that scene in...........the one where Rhett finds out that Wade's been ostracised and hasn't been recieved at any Southerner's parties or if they leave it out, the one on the day Bonnie's born. I think Darius's natural affinity with children would really enhance those scenes.
March 13, 200817 yr I think they'd have to leave the conception to our imagination .......... well I am pretty liberal minded - perhaps after the watershed
March 13, 200817 yr Author I can see from reading the book that you could come up with a very different feel, by selecting to include some of the more blunt and risque dialogues Hollywood baulked at for the same scene and you'd get a much harder hitting GWTW than the film without losing any impetus for the plot.
