Amy Winehouse is at the heart of an extraordinary transatlantic tug of love.

The jazz diva - who's just scooped five Grammys and seen her Back To Black album shoot back up to No.2 in the US charts - has sparked a frantic bidding war, with everyone desperate to bag an exclusive, no-holds-barred interview with her.

In the States, Larry King has been bombarding Amy's people with requests to get her on his CNN show, Larry King Live. Oprah Winfrey has made similar inquiries. And in Blighty, Sir Trevor McDonald is pulling out all the stops to bag Amy, too.

Larry has personally been in touch with Amy's Stateside and UK management. He even sent a begging memo to her offices which read: "I would love to have Amy on - as soon as she is well and ready."

Our source adds: "Larry King is leading the race to secure an interview with Amy on his show. He's confident he can see off Oprah in the race to get her signature."

But Sir Trevor has come out fighting. The ITV news anchorman is planning a one-off Tonight special with Amy and has already made discreet inquires as to whether she would consider doing it.

We hear: "Trevor knows the US market may have a slight edge money-wise, but he feels strongly that he can get her. There are so many unanswered questions from Amy about her drug use and time in rehab - not to mention her Grammy comeback. It will be compulsive viewing."

But Amy herself had other, more personal concerns, yesterday. She was seen carrying a montage of her and hubby Blake as she moved out of her East London flat.

She was also holding an Agent Provocateur bag. Is she going undie cover?
