I noticed. Neither could Marlon Branso. Maybe that's what they look for when they make a film of a musical - a lead actor who isn't very good at singing. Darius doesn't stand a chance of being cast if that's what they're still looking for.
I have not seen the film, so might tune in if I can. It will be interesting to see Mr Gere's performance.

I liked him...and the film

quickly editing to say I much prefer the live show....with Darius :D

I watched the film when it was on around the time we went to see the show, I didnt like the film that much, and not keen on Gere. I preferd the musical show format.

Thanks, Preston. I've got it on Dvd. I haven't watched it for a while though.

When I first watched it, I really enjoyed it. I thought Catherine Zeta Jones and Renee Zellweger were well matched and Renee coped very well with singing..

I liked the character of Billy Flynn although I'd like to see how Richard Gere would play the part without his cigar prop. I have to fast forward through his songs though, now that I know what they should sound like.

I saw Duncan James on the lottery show tonight. thank goodness he's shaved off the facial fuzz he had for Billy.

Presenting the show for about five minutes.Going back to chicago didnt think the film was a good as the show. Went to see Stepping out by the amateur company and then watched the film on video. Apart from liza minelli who was great it did not hold up to the amateurs who are very very professional but surpringly the amateurs put the comedy aspect over far far better with what I thought was greater performances - I was quite surprised. Just goes to show there is a lot of hidden talent out there.
He does the presenting bit for the draws at lottery headquarters. He did it for a while before Chicago too. I saw him a few weeks ago on that dreadful programme of Alan Carr's too - I think it's called Celebrity Ding Dong. It must have been recorded because Duncan had been in Chicago for some time.
When this movie was first on TV I tuned in to watch it not realising it was a musical  Both Lyn and I decided within 2 minutes it wasn't for us, but now D has played BF I am interested to see Mr Gere's version :)
Well, I can for the show - not the film.

There is an awful lot in the film is almost the same as the theatre show. God how old does Richard sound when he is singing?

Older than darius that's for sure. I like the way they merge Razzle Dazzle and the trial in the film , but just listen to that compared with D. Painful!
