As we all know, Brian Kennedy came 10th in the final of this year's Eurovision Song Contest. However, the Irish minister of Arts & Sports congratulated the Irish pride with his 'victory'. "Everyone should be very proud of this excellent achievement", minister John O'Donoghue wrote in a press release, adding that the Belfast man had succeeded in extending Ireland's record number of wins to eight. O'Donoghue, was attending Cannes this weekend, and apparently knew nothing of the message. A representative for the Department of Arts, Sports and Tourism said the press release congratulating Brian Kennedy on a "marvelous win" was posted on the website due to "human error" and removed after about 20 minutes.
