Posted May 23, 200619 yr Here's a few vids by US EBM act Apoptygma Berzerk (most people call 'em Apop just to make things simple...LOL, silly sods, having such an unwieldy name...) These are taken from the "Harmonizer" album, if you wanna see more recent ones, go into Indie/Alternative late on, because, erm, they've rather changed their style a fair bit...... [flash=450,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AMDH-vQrhGQ.swf Vid 1. Unicorn (it's quite New Order-ish....) [flash=450,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaJXknvWlbk.swf Vid 2. Suffer In Silence (cheesy EBM) [flash=450,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kh98KYS18uQ.swf Vid 3. Until The End of the World (A wonderfully cheesy EBM floor-filler) :cheer:
May 23, 200619 yr Author wasnt fussed on the first vid/track, prefered track 3 though :) What did you think of track two...? There's more stuff of theirs on Indie/Alt - when you listen to the songs you'll realise why they're over there...... I like Track 3 as well - the album version is even better....
May 23, 200619 yr track 2 i rate inbetween 1 and 3...lol.. its ok, but nothing special. maybe if i listen to it a few more times itll grow..
May 23, 200619 yr Author track 2 i rate inbetween 1 and 3...lol.. its ok, but nothing special. maybe if i listen to it a few more times itll grow.. Thing is, all these tracks sound quite different on the Harmonizer album, "Unicorn" has female vocals in the chorus and all three tracks are more or less 100% synth, not a whole load of guitars on any of them, different intros as well....
May 24, 200619 yr Oh I dunno I like track #1 :) Liked the start to track to #2...it's a good track...don't like the way it finished tho... #3..ahhh now we're talking, I think we all clearly agree this ones the best :)

Go over to Indie/Alt and check out their new sorta "Emo" direction...... I can't decide if the singer looks more camp in these vids or in the newer ones.....
May 24, 200619 yr Author I'll be the judge cos my gay dar is ****ing awsome :P I'm 90% sure he is actually gay....
May 24, 200619 yr My friend sent me a couple songs of theirs recently and I was BAFFLED because they sounded absolutely nothing like their old stuff! Have you ever heard of a band to change their style of music so drastically? Back in like 99 I thought the c**p boyband LFO was the same early 90's Prodigy-esque electronic band LFO!!  Edited May 24, 200619 yr by Consie

I guess lightweight wishy-washy Emo sells more than EBM in the US.... Did you check out the vids over on Indie/Alt...? Shame on you for the LFO faux pas....   Oh, btw, check out my three part threads on The Gathering and Theatre of Tragedy over on Metal for examples of two other bands who quite drastically changed styles.....

Oh absolutely, but upon further investigation, I see that the band is actually Norwegian and it appears most of their tours and "presence" are in Germany. It seems to me their emo indie thing was limited to one album, 2005's "You and Me Against the World." Because this year they've released some new tracks and they're totally different. Kind of new-wavey. Either way great band and very diverse. Even the American poseur stuff is better than most.

I'm gonna kill that bloody google search thing that told me they were American...... <_< I suppose you're right, they are a cut above the My Chemical Romance-type stuff.... I've heard some really cool EBM remixes of the "We're In This Together" single....I believe Ronan from VNV Nation did one....
