Models can make music, but do we need to hear it? Agyness Deyn is the latest pretty face to graduate to the recording studio. They are, it's their job. They are that fit that if they wanted to, they could dig a ditch. Similarly, an ordinary 13-year-old can get her sister to film her singing Kate Nash covers and post them on YouTube, but a model can network her way into a record deal over a sparkling water at London Fashion Week. The newest model-stroke-pop star is the handsome Agyness Deyn. She's lent her vocals to a single by indie-haircut band Five O'Clock Heroes. It comes out in June, and she stars in the video, so those without ears can enjoy it too. Which is the second beauty of the thing, or maybe the beauty of the thing, part two. While most music requires a hi-fi, music made by models can exist as a poster. Which is like the ultimate experience if you're throwing a dance-party in your bedroom that you don't want your annoying flatmate/sibling/partner to find out about. Model songs are the only music that can be listened to with the eyes.
May 4, 200817 yr David Bowie is my musical (excuse the pun) Hero. But this Scarlett Johansson's single is about as good as David Bowie's thespian abilities. She sounds like a cross between Nico & Cat Power but without either' distinctive vocal tones. Poor.

Frankly, I dont even think she's that good an actress to be honest.... She just has no expressive qualities at all, which is apparent when acting opposite someone like Natalie Portman who does have these qualities, in spades... Seems that her acting "style" has extended to music.... -_-

Scarlett Fantastic lXsla8UtjBA which gives you thought that Ms Johansson should do a version of Swansway's Soul Train next (above but if its a c**p recording you can find it on 3 disc of 12"/80s/2 - in hmv for £4) - can't be any worse than Robbie's Rudebox (Sly & Robbie/Shinehead's Boops next track after that)

(Pigeon Detectives, Jack Penate etc etc - however these are probs only worth only £3 i guess)

Its hard to say what her voice was like as I've only heard a slight bit of it on freshly sqeeezed and the whole of the clip was waffled over like they do. however i guess if the effect is Nico does Tom Waits 4AD style - could be more intersting than good vocalists showboating.... Why don't you check out some of the songs? On Youtube? I'll post some links, if you want. B) If you know where they are feel free - tho i wont be able to listen to them at the mo as me dad as to fix the computer by getting a new sound card.
