Posted May 23, 200619 yr What do you think ? I think it is for only self protection. And in some cercumstances for vengance.
May 23, 200619 yr Did you copy this topic from ffz. I think its right for self protection and vegence say someone killed people close to you for no real reason.
May 23, 200619 yr In self defence yes If someone broke into my house I would kill them, I sleep with a hunting knife under my pillow so I would use it to kill a burglar and that would make me a murderer, would it be justified ??? yes

No.  And yes, it would probably be right to kill someone for vengence over something like that. Although I wouldn't blame someone for doing that.
May 23, 200619 yr I hate those people who "forgive" people who have murdered family members. Edited May 23, 200619 yr by pritt stick
May 23, 200619 yr Author In self defence yes If someone broke into my house I would kill them, I sleep with a hunting knife under my pillow so I would use it to kill a burglar and that would make me a murderer, would it be justified ??? yes Killing is WAY worse than Burglary. I think it would be wrong to kill someone over a burglary. I think sleeping with a hunting knife under your pillow is a bit extreme ...
May 23, 200619 yr I don't it depends what type of Burgular they are, you get the types who just whant to steal and also the type that whant to harm people in the process.
May 23, 200619 yr Author I hate those people who "forgive" people who have murdered family members. I'd never forgive someone. I don't know what I'd do ...Probably go crazy !!
May 23, 200619 yr Author I'd kill them.  Me too ...Or atleast try !! Oh and I've edited my first post as the vengance point was a good point ...
May 23, 200619 yr Killing is WAY worse than Burglary. I think it would be wrong to kill someone over a burglary. I think sleeping with a hunting knife under your pillow is a bit extreme ... Most burglars are likely tooled up, can't take the chance
May 23, 200619 yr In self defence yes If someone broke into my house I would kill them, I sleep with a hunting knife under my pillow so I would use it to kill a burglar and that would make me a murderer, would it be justified ??? yes Mate, I lived in Hackney for two years - a high crime area in London, and I never felt the necessity to sleep with a ruddy knife under the pillow - any lady I'd've brought back to my flat would most likely have run screaming from my flat quite rightly thinking I was some sort of nutter for a start.... Where do you live then? South Central LA....?

Where do you live then? South Central LA....? No a quiet village outside of London but at the end of the day John Monckton probably felt safe in his Mayfair mansion but that did not stop burglars killing him, the way I see it is I can't take any chances and ultimately if someone breaks into my house I have to ASSUME he is tooled up so as I sleep with 3 pillows I keep a very sharp hunting knife under the bottom one to greet any potential burglar with, I would rather have a gun but thats illegal

A quiet village eh.....? Yeah, real high crime area.......When was the last time your village actually had a burglary, seriously....?

Yeah, real high crime area.......When was the last time your village actually had a burglary, seriously....? I live 2 miles away from where a mother was stabbed in the neck and nearly died so there is crime in the area but again if I let down my guard then that is very dangerous, hopefully I will never be burgled but there is always a first time
May 23, 200619 yr would self defence be 'murder'? murder is not acceptable under any circumstances.... we have laws (<_<) to deal with trouble and in a civilised society thats the way to go..
May 24, 200619 yr I think so yes, I would do so in revenge, if someone killed my daughter or someone I loved I wouldn't hesitate. If only I had the chance the other week. <_<

In Hackney where I used to live, I lived just round the corner from the main thoroughfare where several drive-by shootings took place and a young black lad was stabbed to death on the town hall steps! You really wanna start comparing...? LOL.... Bottom line is, I have a dim view of people who carry knives, a guy I know in Glasgow got into a fight with a bloke who pulled a knife on him, he now has a very nice 4-inch scar on his face - permanently..... The facts are thousands of peoples' lives are blighted by knife crime every year and you're four times more likely to be the victim of a knife crime if you actually carry one (knives can be taken off you and used against you...) - you may not want to think it, but if you keep a hunting knife under your bed, you are part of the problem, not part of the solution. Kids are justifying carrying knives to school because they get bullied or the fear of being targeted by bullies. Being tooled-up is not the solution my friend...
May 25, 200619 yr Quite the London debate coming here. First rule of writing - "Write about what you know".....  I mentioned this because there is a big problem of knife culture here in London (and also in other major cities, but it seems to be a bigger problem here than anywhere else) and there is serious consideration being given to putting metal detectors in London schools to stop kids coming in tooled up. Sad state of affairs, but it may become necessary..... :(
