Posted March 9, 200817 yr ...how do you feel about the Blackout and the era in general? http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c9/Blackout_-_Album.PNG Listening to the album it strikes me how incredibly cohesive it is in style, which I think is pretty rare. Every single song sounds so electro but there are also variations in there, from more rap-like chanting on songs like Toy Soldier to almost-ballady songs like Why Should I Be Sad, and I think it's amazing how consistent (and consistently brilliant) the album is. Having said that I think there's only one really legendary song on there, which is Piece Of Me. The album pretty much made me a fan though, and I've since checked out In The Zone too. So what do you feel about the album and the controversy surrounding it? I just thought this thread would provide a decent talking point and maybe a little friendly debate. ^_^
March 9, 200817 yr Great thread. I love it, and I think that the album brought more attention to the fact that Britney really did need help. It also gave Britney the most critically acclaimed album of her career. It's amazing, my fav album ever.
March 9, 200817 yr Great thread. I love it, and I think that the album brought more attention to the fact that Britney really did need help. It also gave Britney the most critically acclaimed album of her career. It's amazing, my fav album ever. And it surprisingly gained her new fans, musically, which is amazing! The album definitely delivered, even in the middle of the most tormentous moment of her life.
March 9, 200817 yr I've fully made my mind up about it now and although i like it there are songs like Toy Soldier and Why Should I Be Sad which are just plain boring, I dont like the fact that she has barely any writing credits on it, and i feel the lack of ballads is a shame Let Go and State Of Grace were both better than WSIBS. In all its a good album but just nothing compared to In The Zone.
March 9, 200817 yr Author Bit of a side not, but 3 listens in and In The Zone seems like a great album! I only dislike Boom Boom. The rest are great, especially Breathe On Me and Brave New Girl. It's very much a less surprising album than Blackout though, for me.

You just listening to In The Zone for the first time ? :o ITZ is way better in my opinion, but Blackout is a good album, it did the job. I still listen to it everyday
March 10, 200817 yr I'm surprised by it, it's not the kind of music I would ever listen to, in fact, I'd never listen to Britney, but the album has such an amazing sound to it, it's quite decent.
March 11, 200817 yr It's probably my favorite Brit album. I really like the musical style on Blackout much more compared to her past studio albums. There's no songs I really hate on the album but I don't care too much for WSIBS. It's still not a bad track though. It's nice to know that non-Britney fans really enjoy the album as well. I'm sure if the album was more well known or people were more willing to give it a listen it would've garnered even more attention and success. I'm very glad with the single choices so far as they are the more appealing and stand-out tracks. I think 'Toy Soldier' could make a great single choice but the way the vocals are done on the track could be a turn off for some people.
March 11, 200817 yr still listen to the album :cheer: just recived the german copy of it which was a b-day present from my friend back in October but he just got back from there and gave me ^_^ still love this CD  I'm spinning my new copy these days :heehee:
