Vânia Fernandes, from the island of Madeira, will be representing Portugal in the ESC 2008, after winning last January "Operação Triunfo", the Portuguese equivalent of "Fame Academy". Actually there were other two singers from that show on the national final and the backup singers were from the show as well (the big black guy is said to be Vânia's boyfriend).

Lyricist and producer Carlos Coelho have written songs for othe country's national finals but finally won and for his country.

The composer is Andrej Babic who composed last year's Slovenian entry.

Finally a respactable song for Portugal.

I love the song  great job Portugal :D

btw Anderj Babic also wrote the Croatian entry in 2003, Bosnia & Herzegovina 2005, Slovenia 2007 and now Portugal 2008

Today I watched him on a television and he said he was hoping to get to all european countries
Hmm they're a decent batch of songs - especially Croatia 2003 - any chance he could be sent over to the United Kingdom and write us a song? :kink:

lol he's up for it by his latest interview he want to do all countries :kink:

does the UK alow foreign authors in their selection?

I know that for ex. in Macedonia only domestic authors are alowed to enter a song in the National Selection!
