I think we should go gracefully. It's no fun for the same artist to be at the top of any chart for too long.

The best critics in the land have affirmed that Darius is a great singer. There should be no further doubt that this forum has as much right to exist on a general music forum like Buzzjack as those belonging to solely recording artistes .

Why should a multi-talented artist not use all of his talents? When the next album comes out, Darius will slot back into the recording artist box.

For months we have had so much to read and post about, when he goes on holiday, we'll have nothing new and the forum will be quieter. That's how it should be. It's natural we're busy now.
It's wonderful that this forum is top again :) Well done all you busy types on here  though I realise this chart isn't really very important in the grand scheme of things. If only D could have a no1 album for this amount of weeks, now that would be something :w00t:
I'll settle for his happiness and enjoyment in what he chooses to do. I'd love a new album though. Booth says it is still being worked towards but Darius is a little distracted at the moment.
Yes just a little distraction :D It was great that Booth said he was still writing though :)
as long as Darius is happy I am happy - I for one would gladly sacrifice a number one album for his happiness, I still yearn for some more of his lovely songs, - never would I want fame to come at the price so many seem to pay for these days. It would break my heart to see him in the press heralded as some huge superstar, yet having a bad life experience. There's too much of that these days and no amount of money or fame is worth that.

You're right PIP, but I feel D is the type to flourish whatever success or lack of it he has. It's just his nature and how he lives his life :) Obviously I want him to be happy and to enjoy what he does, but I am sure he could do that with a no1 album and a tour of the uk, so that's what I am hoping for :) though I realise at the moment, anything along those lines is now a long way off.

I'm not sure how much time or concentration Darius could give to the production of the album just now. He's doing every show and the emotion he puts into his performance every show must leave him tired. We know he's also reading scripts and trying to keep his personal life on the go not to mention working out to keep up his stamina.

There's no doubt about that. Darius laid himself bare to the harshest bunch of nit picking critics in the UK and apart from a few reviews which said he tried to be Clark Gable but didn't get him completely and two odd ones which called him respectively wooden and "stiff and smarmy", the critics agreed he was an excellent singer and serious actor.

He now has a credibility which goes far beyond the world of pop or TV.

No album of pop/acoustic/jazz he produced, no matter how great, no matter how long it stayed in the charts could have turned the GBP's perception of him around so quickly.

Darius could walk into a studio and lay down the vocals for an album of MT covers tomorrow and launch it with positive quotes about his singing from the reviews of GWTW. Launched at the right time it could sell millions as the parade of similar albums always do. You see it's official - it's OK to buy a Darius album because the papers say he can actually sing.

Darius could............................... but I wouldn't lay any money on him ever doing it unless it was for charity.

I would be happy with it for charity but, I just like to hear his songs. I hope a cast album comes about though.

I'm amazed we made 4th. There seems to have been very little going on last week - not much more this week. I think we all knew the rush of publicity would end and go back to a slower rate.
