well having just read the 40 years of Chrysalis feature in Music Week you think well it could be worse...could have nicked the tune of spandau ballet!!!*

and while you wait for any album called 'Go West sing the hits of Feeder' here is New Found Glory doing 'forgetfulNorahJonescoverversionman's' The King of Wishful Thinking...not a Recomendation just very random!!! and s better than posting anything by Chrysalis records types Starsailor

Don't mock Go West!!, they were pretty damn good, the self-titled album from 1985 is one of my guilty pleasures!!.

Anyways, here's a few of my fave golden oldies, so what if Feeder are not on the same level as some of these bands the media hype and radio 1 play to death. As long as Feeder are making enough profits to make more and more albums, and selling enough gig tickets to put food on the table, and continue to make music that I love, I'm happy, charts-schmarts!.

"Sometimes the whole point of being into indie music is that you don't want your favourite bands to get big, you want them to be your own little secret. Who wants trendies high jacking our music, eh?"- youtube comment on Geneva's "Best Regrets" video.

First up, Feeder's top 40 debut from 1997.

Suede- Animal Nitrate (1993)

Geneva- "Best Regrets" (1997)

What a stupid bloody comment. It doesn't matter how much something sells, good music is good music. Sod trendies.

I prefer this one by Geneva

No One Speaks

As long as you like it, that's all that matters at the end of the day :D.

Every track on Geneva's two albums were brilliant, I'd love them to reform.

marcus has a point tbh, many times in the past we have all liked some reletively unknown act and dread them becoming 'popular' because the music quality often suffers and they aint 'your' pet thing anymore...

I haven't. I have always wanted my favourite bands to get to the top of the charts and sell millions of records.

i have and feel justified in doing so...

take the human league for eg.... brilliant before they courted popularity, as soon as 'the masses' got hold of them they became lame. same with dexys and millions of other acts.

3 terrific tracks there Alin

For my next reccommendation here's the original theme for Tomorrow Never Dies before it was supplanted by Sheryl Crow's much inferior effort

Back to 80s indie (what else?) for this one.

First heard it on the Chart Show back in 86 and then eventually got it on the first Indie Top 20 (only available on tape!)

Half Man Half Biscuit - Dickie Davis Eyes

This is one from the 80s for anyone that's into CSS and Yelle and even Justice. Great piece of Italo Disco:

Baby's Gang - Challenger

A recently re-discovered gem! I'd rate the lyrics in this song among the 10 best song lyrics ever.

Norma

A great song that I rediscovered on Spotify, with a video that precedes the treatment to Robert Palmer's Addicted To Love video by 8 years:

Bryan Ferry - Sign Of The Times (1978 UK#37)

A song I haven't heard for absolute ages, it was the B side to Ships in the night. Love the guitar rift half way through & again at the end.

Be Bop Deluxe - Crying to the sky [uK #23 . 1976]
