Me too

Wishing you luck Chrysalis. :friends:

Thanks F/G and munchkin. I'm just off now. Actual appointment isn't until 2.00pm but have to have various tests beforehand.
Thanks everyone. :friends: The good news is that I'm still clear and there's no talk of chemo, the bad news is my rib is still broken, and will probably always be so. Still, with the painkillers, I can live with that.

Glad to know you're doing ok chrysalis, will your broken rib not knit or has it knitted together crooked?

Pleased it was mainly good news today chrysalis. :friends:

That's great news Chrysalis. Surely the rib will eventually heal - won't it?

It turns out the rib was broken during the op after all, but it could hardly be seen at the time and it wasn't realised until May, when it was very obvious. They tell me the likehood of it healing now is very unlikely. Apparently fibres and stuff grow over the ends to prevent any sharpness (as I had in February), and the pain killers do the rest. I suspect at the time of the op they were more interested in seeing they had removed all the cancer than looking for a broken bone.

Hey this is supposed to be a happy thread, and I'm OK to-day.

I'm just posting this in here, some of you might have missed it when it was posted on the official site, it's from the Kent Messenger and was posted in by Deb.

Lots of good Will for celebrity diners

It’s celebrity time down at Elvey Farm restaurant and B & B and everyone is behaving star-struck. Jeff Moody tells all:

Exciting news from Elvey Farm – we’ve had a celebrity diner! I’m not talking Gemma Humphries or Geoff Clark (the local news and weather people in case you are wondering) – I mean BIG celebrity (no offence, guys!) We got a call to say Will Young would like to eat with us. That’s Will Young, in case you missed it!

Well, to see the way our staff carried on, you’d think the Queen was coming to dinner. The phone was ringing off the hook, from waitresses and bar staff and cleaners and washer uppers.. ”Just thought I’d let you know I’m free to work on Monday, if you need me.”

Claire the chef went into meltdown. “What does he eat?” she asked, a look of panic on her face. “Er… the same as everyone else?”.

He was coming to the farm to film a spoof version of Most Haunted for Channel 4’s Sunday Night Project and would dine about seven.

By about five, I was starting to get a bit tired of the whole thing, particularly after Claire invented her 40th new dish for the Specials board. And did she really need so much make-up in the kitchen? When Jane, our housekeeper, turned up in a low cut off-the-shoulder dress and her hair floating around like she was in a Head and Shoulders advert I knew enough was enough. “He’s only a human being.” I cried. “But we want him to like us,” the staff cried back. “But he doesn’t even ride the same bus as you,” I snapped rather bitchily.

So the time came and in walked Will Young. Even Simon went to pieces, making silly jokes about ice cubes. Of course, I was the only one who kept a clear head. “Good evening, Mr Young. Can I tempt you with our selection of traditionally Kentish home-made delicacies?”

Now I have to say, Will Young was lovely. All the guests had a great time, posing for photos with him, and he was charming to all. He even shook Claire’s hand.

“I’m never going to wash that hand,” she said, at which point I reminded her that she was a chef.

So now we’ve got a taste for celebrity guests, I wonder if Gemma Humphries will come?

 Thanks suki and Deb. What a fun piece - the writer should be a comedy writer.

Thanks Suki - I was just reading this over on D. It's hilarious - I was in catering so can paint a vivid picture.
