I think possibly once you have top actors in expecting certain pay creteria - then start cutting back scenes and stage time it is difficult, that sort of stuff should have been done in the workshop stage. If a new cast was taken on now, he could have the roles already set out, and know he needed only a few solo actors..as long as Darius as Rhett I would be happy, although Jill has become special too seeing her so many times, they seem to go together.

I just can't beleive it seems so ameteurish a way to get a production in the WE, hubby says there's very odd about the whole thing also

Was anyone at any of the shows where Savannah played Scarlett?

I used to like seeing Darius with various Roxies and Velmas.

Yes, I was BT and she was brilliant!! You would never have known she was the understudy except for the fact that they were obviously not prepared for the understudy to have to appear so early on in the run as the poor girl only had one change of dress!!

(she was much smaller than Jill in height!!) Her singing was perhaps not quite as powerful as Jill's but her acting was every bit as good and to be honest (perhaps her accent was not so strong) but I could understand every word she said! It must have been very challenging both for her and Darius, but I didn't see or hear them put a foot wrong!! :cheer:

On Saturday I also had a long chat with Gareth Chart (Ashley's understudy) as Neil and I had seen him the Saturday before in the matinee performance. He, also, was very good but much 'softer' in the part - he looked so much younger 'off stage' :D He was thrilled that he had actually had the chance to play Ashley but he hadn't got anything new lined up yet like some of the others! :( When I actually read his write-up in the programme he has a part in the new 'Mamma Mia' film with Meryl Streep and Pierce Brosnan - I wish I had asked him about that!! :D I will definitely have to see that film now!

I so hope that they all go on to bigger and better things!!!

Was Gareth Chart the union soldier who asked what they were expected to do with all the freed slaves just after Darius did his 'Lincoln' narration.

Does anyone know what other members of cast have lined up?

You have an amazing memory BT!! I don't know how you did your own GWTW thread - did you take notes at the theatre?!! :D

I saw the show 7 times  but I only remember that he was one of the twins and a union soldier - I'm afraid I really can't remember much about what he did as a soldier!!!

Jina Burrows' (Prissy's) Mum and Dad were sitting in front of us on Tuesday and they said that Gina is going straight into 'The Wizard of Oz' and that she is very happy about that

I hope all the other cast members find new placements. Some,no doubt, have families to support.

I think they could have lost thst solo from Prissy, that was the only thing that bored me really in the show - we had wings of a dove mentioning preachers and teaching and the way of life changing, so I didnt really care what Prissy wanted to do, it seemed superfluous. I prefered her as the simple minded one in the film, it worked that she lied about birthing, and did nothing but do Scarletts hair etc..but not if she was clever and wanted to become a teacher etc.

its good if they can get straight into anther production - I do hope Darius finds something too though, I wasnt sure to make of the article where he said they had all lost money..

Darius' Starmeter on ImDb has risen by 181% since last week - I wonder if they know something that we don't!!!

Nice to see.

I should think that it rose by considerably more than that on the 23rd April. From "Who's Darius?", to Darius Danesh is outstanding, charismatic, commanding, talented, has an extraordinary bass baritone voice with beautiful high vocals, is a colossus.

Found this message on one of D's sites

"Hi Darius, remember me psychic sam ? the rumpologist .lol

www.psychicsam.com. love the webpage, glad your doing well. x x x x"

Rumpologist - that takes me back. Terry and Gabi - one of the funniest shows Darius did. Maybe I'll find it when I get a chance to start going through my videos.

Goodness knows how imdb work things out. It's as difficult to judge as theleague on here.

Oh I remember the rumpologist with terry and gaby. that was a great show which also included the lookalike for Prince William and he was so like him.
I still have that on video somewhere and was disappointed I couldn't go to the show and see it live.

There is an interview with steve brookstein in th daily record. extract -

While Leona Lewis, Will Young and Girls Aloud have been reality show successes, there have been a string of ruined careers.

Steve, Gareth Gates, Hear'Say, One True Voice and Scots winners Michelle McManus (of Pop Idol) and David Sneddon (of Fame Academy), all had hits then bit the dust.

Last year's X Factor winner Leon Jackson has had the Christmas No.1, but the jury will be out on his career until his album hits the shops.

Do you think its a good thing D isnt mentioned or are the DR doing their usual.

I think it's a good thing Darius isn't mentioned. But I wouldn't say that all members of say Hear'say have ruined careers - Kim Marsh is in Coronation Street, Myleen Klass used to do the One Show and hasn't she had an album out recently.
Suzanne Shaw is doing Chicago. Gareth is in the West End in July. Not bad for any of them.
always the way, success seems mainly to mean you are in the gossip mags a lot, generaly drunk or displaying flesh - nothing to do with actual career,

I hate when papers automatically drag in random names from other reality 'talent' shows when they're interviewing someone who came to public attention that way. Where is the point of it when for the most part the journalist hasn't a clue what these people are actually doing?

Everyone they've mentioned as far as I recollect has been active entertaining in the past couple of months. The only individual I haven't read anything about is Danny from Hear'say but that doesn't mean to say he hasn't been busy too. It's 7 years since Hear'say were formed.
