I suppose these concerts are very much 'closed' affairs, as Preston says. If you're not in that circle you will not

be invited to take part. I think much of showbiz works along those lines.

According to a young poster on Bebo, she saw Darius on the underground yesterday!! Assuming that she was not mistaken, I wonder why he is back in the UK - It must be something important as I really didn't think that we would see or hear anything of him until at least after his and Natasha's birthday week!! :D

I've just thought - and I can torment julie about reading the Star which is a lovely added bonus.

:D I've only just read your post Meg - I don't actually read it as such, I just scan through it and look at the pictures!!!  (I used to buy so many magazines just in case D was ever mentioned but now it's just the Daily Star and New magazine unless we hear he is in anything else - how old am I????  )

Poor D (if it was him).....far too noticeable with his height and colouring ever to pass incognito. Though there are a

surprising number of very tall young men with his colouring, especially in the thriving metropolis of London. Last time

I was there several caught my eye, and I looked twice to see if it was D. Unfortunately it never was. But a young

girl could easily have been mistaken.

Danni Minogue is busy denying having had a relationship with Simon Cowell. Who, apart from Terri Seymour, would

want one?

Edited by Bramley

Seeing as Bramley has mentioned Ds height, there is an interesting thread on WOS entitled - Musical theatre does height matter. I remember with guys and dolls Louise Dearman was tiny, however with GWTW jill waas reasonably taller and they looked very balanced. I do like to see a reasonably tall leading man and its great if the girl does balance.
Rhett needed to be taller than Scarlett but I don't think it would have mattered it he'd been a lot taller.
It sounded as though Scarlett was of average height in GWTW as she hadn't inherited Ellen's height. Rhett was taller than all the other men. I don't think it'd matter Scarlett being shorter than Jill but, I don't think it'd work unless rhett was the tallest there.

On stage, it doesn't seem to matter if a guy is exceptionally tall, unless he is involved in dancing, when it might give the choreographer a headache trying to fit him in. In filming, groups could look a bit odd if one guy towered above the rest.

Small actors (Tom Cruise etc) can always stand on a step, or a box for closeups, but it would be painful for a tall guy to continuously bend his knees. At least D is unlikely to be partnered with a girl taller than himself. Jill seemed about the right height for him, but a smaller girl in Guys and Dolls seems sensible in view of the different Sky Mastersons she played opposite during the run, not all of whom were tall.

Baytree's absence relates back to when she and I had a spat over the meaning of 'debacle', and the unintentional wording

of her post, which appeared to put words in my mouth. At the time I made it clear that I knew it was unintentional and

not deliberate, and I said I hoped I had not upset her.(SEE Bits and Pieces page 25). Since then I have appealed twice

to her to begin posting again, to no avail. Baytree, for the last time, will you please begin posting again. As a stalwart

supporter of this forum you are missed. I know you are reading these threads each day.....now rejoin us.

Talking about Tom Cruise I'm just watching 'Cocktail' :D

It's only been 2 weeks up to now. BT is a strong character. Even if she was annoyed by your post, she'd have come back to say so.
I do hope she is going to post again, she was a member way back when I was a member of Darius devotees so she goes back quite a way. Please Maria come back.

X FACTOR reject Nikk Major last night blasted Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh — and vowed to prove them wrong: “I’ll be the next Darius.”

Twelve million viewers watched as the judges sent the 24-year-old packing on Saturday — despite being pals with Cheryl Cole.

Nikk and Cheryl were contestants on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002 but his singing career never took off, and he now performs in working men’s clubs.

Seething Nikk insisted he could become as successful as Pop Idol underdog Danesh — who came third in the 2002 series.

But Nikk last night claimed he

NEVER stood a chance because he had been on a reality show before

RECEIVED a personal message from Cheryl saying he’d been cheated and

Success ... Darius Danesh

WAS poised to sign a record deal to prove judge Simon Cowell wrong.

Disappointed Nikk, who has had modest success with boyband Phixx, slated the music tsar and fellow judge Louis Walsh, who said his dream was over.

Nikk also told how Cheryl left the set in tears — refusing to judge his performance.

The lad, of Halifax, West Yorks, said: “It was a total stitch up — I was cheated. As soon as I walked in, Simon recognised me and I just knew it was downhill from there.

“It was such a cold atmosphere I could tell he and Louis didn’t want to give me a chance because I’d been on a reality show before.

“And because Cheryl knew me they wanted to wind her up for the cameras to make good telly.”

Nikk also claimed Dannii Minogue’s suggestion he could be a model was cut from the show. And he added he felt like Cowell tried to act like they had never met.

Nikk said: “Simon knew me but it never came across — I’ve been to his house twice and had dinner there.

“They didn’t mention the 2½ years I spent in Phixx, our top ten single — or the number one album in South Africa.

“They just tried to take the Mickey out of me by showing me in a half empty working men’s club.

“They wanted it to look like my life was in the pits. I was just a pawn in their game — it was humiliating.”

In a Phixx ... lad in band

Telling of Cheryl’s “cheer-up” note, the wannabe said: “She got one of the Girls Aloud dancers, who’s a pal of mine, to tell me I was so much better than Simon and Louis made out. She said I should stick with it and not listen to them. It was a nice gesture.”

And the young performer refused to give up on his own record deal. Nikk said: “I have got a lot of interest from people in the business and I’m confident there will be some movement.

“My aim is to be like Darius. He was seen as a laughing stock when he did Popstars but came back for Pop Idol and made a success out of himself.

“I’ll prove them wrong. I’ll show I can be a success. It’ll be sweet revenge. I know I can sing — people wouldn’t pay me to perform if I couldn’t.”

We didn't watch the programme and I can't recall Nick Major at all, but good luck to him. Darius has inspired a lot of

people, hasn't he.
