Jill was the only one who seemed really tired but she was still Ok. I think it may be the biggest blow for her.

That's exactly how I feel Meg, I hope we're right!! A few of us saw Darius (and the rest of the cast) just after they had been told the bad news. Most of them seemed devastated but Darius and Jill came out separately and both of them appeared OK (I get the feeling that they might have been forewarned!!) Anyway, Darius' comment was 'onwards and upwards' and while he was talking to Allison and I D's friend was telling another lady that 'D would be fine'!!! :)

Apparently D told Joan that ALW had been to see the show!!??? I wonder.......

We can but just wait and see........

I expect ALW would have gone to see Jill at some time anyway. After all she was his Laura Fairlie in Woman In White in London and on Broadway.

It's good that he has also seen the rest of this wonderful cast who are going to available for other productions soon. I think I'd like to see just about all of them again and I'll definitely go to any tours they're in if they come to Scotland.

It was her dream for so long to play Scarlett and her dream has been realised! She was excellent and I feel that she will get to play the part again somewhere else in the world to great acclaim!! The whole cast must feel a certain sense of failure atm regardless of how brilliantly they have all performed over the past two months!!! :( I hope they all go on to bigger and better 'things' - they certainly deserve to!!

I'm sure all of the producers would have made it clear to the cast that the closure decision was made purely on financial terms but that's little consolation when a close knit company of friends as well as colleagues is breaking up.

Aldo Scrofani too put an awful lot of himself into this production. It must have been awful for him to tell them all.

On the plus side - everyone saw how good it was and we still have had more times to see Darius than we have for yearfs. If I'd known it was going to be so short I'd have gone every 3rd day.
If I'd known it was going to be short, I'd have stayed in London until the Tuesday after I flew back from Canada and I would have gone to every performance to cement every detail into my memory. It would have been worth losing £30 or so for my non-returnable train ticket.

Over on imdb.com on D's and Natasha's pages they have news reports about GWTW closing early but it is also mentioned that D received critical acclaim and standing ovations for his portrayal as Rhett Butler

Meg, where are you sitting on Sat eve ....my friend is checking out trains. Are tickets still available?

London is going to be very busy.....it's the Trooping of the Colour (the Queen's Birthday Parade) and

also a naked bike ride through Hyde Park. Not sure what that is about.

People watching a spectacle and people making spectacles of themselves. It's a matter of opinion which is which.
we're sitting 2nd row, the block left of centre facing the stage. Phone SEE to see what they can do. They have more options than on the net. I'm not going on the coming Saturday as Dave's away.

GWTW visit looking unlikely........ all the Advance rail tickets for that day have been sold and normal ticket prices

are astronomical. Ah well, at least I've seen it once.

There are, but I can't travel by coach......I always feel sick. In a car I feel ill in the back, so need to sit in the front.
I have the same problem there. Just tell the coach driver to move over - or sit in his lap.
I m travelling up by coach on the saturday for the evening performance, six hours on the coach. I just hope I dont fall asleep during the performance as I did the other week for the whole of the second half of south pacific but it wasnt good anyway. Back by coach the next day.
mmmm......wonder if D would like a coachdriver's job.....

With Bramley sitting on his knee.

Many of the casts are having interviews and auditions already. Some are doing workshops - hoping that the next thing will really be the big thing they thought GWTW should be - it was good enough.
