Gwtw was a great combination, wonderful story, history, comedy, romance, tragedy, beautifully acted with some really good songs sung fantastically well.

I don't care what those who weren't there say about it now because I was there and I witnessed the audience's reactions.

Those audiences were rapt with attention and hugely appreciative.

Everyone involved should be proud of the shows they put on.

Some of them seemed to be expecting a re-run of the film with Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh reprising their roles with huge sweeping cinematography in the background. If they hadn't been set on that they might have been able to give an objective opinion of the show they actually saw.

I think the critics were just trying to put Trevor and Margaret down. They didn't care as long as they succeeded in that.

There is an article about 19 Entertainment making £23million from Pop Idol. I can't make the link work,

but in Google I typed in Daily Mail Financial, then clicked on Companies and Markets, then scrolled well down.

Says how much Fuller took home, etc.

I presume they are just talking about Pop Idol and not American Idol which he's surely made much more from.

My only interest in Simon Fuller is his influence for advancing or reining in Darius's career. On that score, the jury is out as far as I'm concerned.

Darius however seems to have total faith in him..

Well, it's only recently that he's been said to be D's manager - it's usually been Nicky - and he's still around.

Today's review of 'High School Musical On Stage' in the Guardian makes interesting reading. A show like this

will be a runaway success, yet GWTW, with far more depth, lasted such a short time.

did they say that about GWTW or have you added it?

Unfortunately that's that kind of musical people are wanting to see....but it's geared for pre-teens to early teens....will it get the parents taking them or paying for them?

I thought Simon Fuller was always said to be Darius's joint manager.

I have no interest in paying West End prices and having to pay for travel and accommodation unless I'm going to see Darius. Most shows eventually make it before and/or after WE to Edinburgh or Glasgow.

I do as much as I can when I'm in London to see Darius but I wouldn't bother travelling down for a city break or shopping trip.

High School Musical was on in the arena ten minutes from my house. I didn't bother. the audience seemed to consist of Primary school kids and early teens, mums and grans.

High School Musical is on TV - bound to be a hit but, even our 13 year old thinks it's dire - the 10 yr olds love it though.

And now we have George Sampson in the West End !

George Sampson was the one who won 'Britain has Talent' (or something) by throwing himself about....apparently

called breakdancing......according to the teenagers his 'dancing' was fantastic!

I think it said four weeks in a hip hop dance show at the Novello Theatre.
