Sorry done it again. I thought the same as baytree re indie label. GG has managed to release an album which 19 must have had some say in or helped with and also emma bunton. A lot of artistes release albums who dont go anywhere near the charts and dont want to so why not D. I realise that when he is in LA its different but when he is here its as if he is invisible which I dont think is a good thing. Also we wonder what he is doing in LA no gigs or some gigs. A lot of concerts crop up here like ALW birthday etc etc but Ds name doesnt which I dont think is a good thing. just my thoughts.

I think the one thing I've discovered this year first from the announcement that Darius had been cast as Rhett Butler and second from the website I found showing that he had been working on tracks at the end of 2007 with a US producer he'd worked with previously, is that I haven't a clue what's going on behind the scenes here or in America.

It's up to Darius, whether he wants to make a big show of what he's doing by setting up chances to be papped and feeding little gossipy tidbits to the media like so many others or whether he just wants to give his energies to getting on with the job quietly.

I want Darius to have it all - personal happiness and a successful career but he's the one who has to decide where the tipping point is for him and what he will not trade off under any circumstances.

Before PI he had decided on his first no-negotiation point - he would only sign a recording contract which would ensure he recorded his own songs and he would take a very hands on approach in the production of every one.

Now it's bit more complicated - he's shown his cards and 3 possible careers beckon - singer/songwriter, MT performer and actor. He alone can decide on the opportunities which open up in each one of them.

When he left GWTW, his intention was to commit himself to the album but what if something else is a real possibility too? Would any of us even with hindsight have expected/wanted Darius to turn down the part of Rhett to release the album?

When he has his album ready, Darius may well enter into negotiations with major labels for its distribution but he may release it on the 19 label or he may even put it out on his own label. Whatever he does, IMHO he'll make sure it goes out exactly as he has conceived it. I think that is one of the no-negotiation points for this album. I personally think that Darius wasn't happy at not having enough time to fully craft the Live Twice songs himself, because of the circumstances surrounding its recording and he will brook no interference with this one no matter how long it takes.

I think what prompted my comments above on D and his album was this on WOS

Oliver Tomsett will be performing songs from his album at Bush hall in August. He apparently was the lead in Wicked and is a musical theatre star I have not heard of and he will be supported by paul ayres from the jersey boys. so Oliver is another case of releasing with the charts not in view yet has a label. I often wonder what happened to the girl who supported D on the dive in tour, she had a really good lead single off her album which I really liked but she didnt get much promotion and had been in the music industry for years. Her name escapes me for the moment.

What label is he on?

A lot of the MT performers are signed by "classical" labels who seem to prefer their artists to re-interpret standards and MT numbers, with only the rare original track and even fewer still songs written by the artist in question. The easy listening "churn them out" market sells shedloads of records. Not Darius's scene - he may sing the songs in character on the stage in a complete show and even record a cast CD but he wouldn't do an album of covers. At present, creating music is his passion.

I dont know what label he is on Baytree, it didnt say. I expect you are right in that because they are musical theatre stars they release musical theatre numbers and not their own work but if D is going to be known for musical theatre as well, it would be good if some musical numbers were thrown in somewhere for the public if they fitted in who will know him for that aspect and if it meant getting a deal.it is mentioned on DM that danielbedingfield has been trying for two years but on the release schedule posted on this site his name is under coming soon. To some degree it seems that the labels are constantly looking for the next new artiste.

I do hope he doesn't take too long 'fully crafting' his next album. If he is seeking perfection he could be 'tweaking' it for years!!

Abbey Clancy (girlfriend of footballer Peter Crouch) has been extolling the virtues of airbrushing. Someone certainly

airbrushed the photo of Rhett holding Scarlett (in red dress), removing the hair on his chest. Just another example of

the media presenting a falsified image.

Shouldn't the individual have some control over how much airbrushing is used? And certainly over the use of unflattering

'snatched' photos? Not that anyone would dare to complain....the media would crucify them.

These days with the net, a papped/ snapped without permission image can be disseminated worldwide before anyone realises it has been taken. Unless the caption or write up is defamatory or misleading enough to be of concern, I don't think anybody could do much about them.

Is there some kind of timetable for releasing a new album and/or single? I mean is there a good time for this, autumn,

summer etc? Obviously there is a tremendous amount of competition at Christmas so presumably that is not a good

time. (Apart from the X-factor winner, Peter Kay and Gary Barlow are releasing a single, as also is George Michael)

Apparently George Michael's Xmas release will be a free download single of a song called 'Feeling Good' taken from the legal fantasy show 'Eli Stone'. If it's released on download only, will there be a video to go with it - I thought if there were then it would probably be clips taken from the show and Natasha would be in GM's video!!!

On D's MySpace page, it puts him with 19 but also Indie. I didn't understand Indie so I looked it up. If I read it

correctly it means he has, at the moment, no record company. So that may be a stumbling block. If Daniel

Bedingfield has been trying to find one for two years, it makes you wonder.

I think I read somewhere that Daniel Bedingfield is now on the release schedule - I, for one, am looking forward to his new music! Apparently, last week a record was released called 'The One' by Sharam featuring Daniel Bedingfield and this is a re-working of Dan's 'If You're Not the One'. I haven't heard it but hopefully it will do well and bring Daniel back into public attention!! :D

I hope he makes it. It seems that when an artist has been out of the public eye for a while, it is very difficult to

make a come-back. At least D has been doing other things since his second album, so that has kept him in the

public eye.

Both, although I think it's probably more important for Daniel, because songwriting and singing seem to be his only passions.
If you go on Daniels site there is quite a nice song playing, must be a new one as didnt know it.

There's a papped picture of Darius (1st September) on Rex Features. Thanks to Claire for that info.

He's looking well.

Good to see a photo again....some time since the last one.

He is wearing a scarf to protect his voice so he must be working - recording? auditioning? performing? I wish he would just tell us something!!! anything!!! DARIUS????!!

Natasha looks like she is feeling the cold!! :)

Don't tell me the penny's finally dropped. Those who're blessed with great voices should take some care of them. Why has it taken him so long ? It's 5 years since Steven Morales told him pretty much the same thing after he heard him sing in Miami.
