It's going true to form for me. I don't mind watching it but it wouldn't be a problem if i didn't. At least it's something I will watch.

Oh I shall go on watching it. Nice to see Richard Wilson back in action, and to hear John Hurt's voice as the dragon.

There was a lot more of Natasha in the 3rd episode of Eli Stone - Father Figure.

I still can't warm to her character, Taylor, because there doesn't seem to be any spark between her and Eli.

Jonny Lee Miller's much too wishy-washy for me, an unlikely hero - maybe that's what the role calls for.

I've taken out the adds while I was sitting doing puzzles. I'll watch it tonight. I can't stand adds being nearly as long as parts of the show. I'm sure the last lot of adds and trailors were longer than the last part of the show.

I read recently that the length of adtime is to be increased in the terrestrial TV channels.....how much of the programme

are they going to leave. Soon won't bear watching.

I don't remember if the Taylor Ferguson mention was in this thread.

I didn't realise they'd won the Business award at the Great Scot Awards and that Darius sent them a filmed message which was played at the event. He'd have definitely been there if he could have, I'm sure.

Is this the article you found, megham ?

Taylor is a-head of all the others

Oct 8 2008 by Wendy Scott, Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser

COATBRIDGE-born celebrity crimper Taylor Ferguson has been recognised in a major awards scheme.

He was named as recipients of the 2008 Great Scots for business award at a glittering ceremony in Glasgow’s Hilton Hotel.

Taylor and wife Anne, who is co-director of the business, were named as joint winners at the ceremony organised by the Sunday Mail newspaper team and received their award from entrepreneur David Moulsdale from the category sponsors, Optical Express.

The couple, who have been in business for more than 30 years, admitted to being "taken by surprise" at the announcement.

Taylor, who followed the footsteps of his mother Patricia into the profession, said: "There are few times in my life when I've been left speechless but this was one of them.

“When the category was being announced I looked up at the screens and suddenly saw the salon exterior and turned to Anne and thought: 'That's our workplace. What's going on?'

“I had no idea at all we’d even been nominated. It’s a fantastic recognition, not only for us and the business, but also for our profession.

“We constantly strive to achieve a very high standard in our profession and it’s brilliant that our efforts have been recognised.”

Anne said: "

“We're both absolutely delighted to receive this wonderful accolade.

“It was very humbling being named alongside the many unsung heroes who are recognised by these great awards."

The Fergusons' film tribute included a pre-recorded message from singer Darius Danesh, one of the Glasgow city centre salon's many showbiz clients.

The salon has welcomed a host of personalities over the years including Billy Connolly, Jennifer Ellison, Lulu, Stephanie Beecham, Jackie Brambles and Colin and Justin.

Quote.....Taylor, who followed the footsteps of his mother Patricia into the profession

I decided that brilliant hairdressers are born, not made, when my hairdresser died and his son took over......after

many years at that salon I moved to another. It seems Taylor is the exception that proves the rule.

I watched Eli stone for the first time last night. It was OK thats all I can say. The lead man didnt impress me Johnny lee miller I think.
I liked the first two episodes better but this week's was OK for me. Much better without ads.

Me too. I'd buy into the fact that Eli was a cutthroat corporate shark who suddenly finds a heart and the desire for justice for all, if there was the slightest indication of that in his personality - more like Keanu Reeves in Devil's Advocate. For me, as I said, Johnny Lee Miller is too wishy washy - he just doesn't have enough oomph.

I don't know if it's a coincidence but the two actors whose performances impress me most so far, are the theatre/MT trained Victor Garber and Loretta Stone. I likeDr Chen too although I think to some extent that's down to the writing rather than the acting.

Is anyone watching 'Sunshine'? I'm engrossed. The Grandad/Grandson relationship is very moving, reminiscent of

John Thaw in 'Goodnight Mr Tom'.
