That news section at the top of the forum, does anyone know if individuals can set the page display to open without it?

 

I find all that white space with a blinking advert in the middle very distracting.

I'll enjoy it more when there's more to report.

It's almost unthinkable and, for me, unbearable to contemplate happening, but maybe we have to be prepared to let it be blank entirely for a good while, to let Darius get on with laying the foundations of a solid career in the US without worrying about always having to keep us in the loop.

I hadn't noticed that he often did. We get to know after everyone else does. I wish I still had people living in the States. They'd be very handy for recording things for us.

Is he laying a solid foundation of career in the States though as I thought we would of heard of something during the quite long time he has been there. I would have thought he would have had opportunities similar to here to contemplarte but perhaps its to do with the work regulations there.

We are still holding No 4 place in the Artists Forums list.

 

Preston, it could also be a problem with the intense competition over there. A great many British artists have tried to crack

America, but very few have succeeded. I hope I am wrong.

Competition was not a problem when he saw off the Americans auditioning for Rhett.

Aldo Scrofani was extremely impressed with Darius as a man, as well as a talented artist.

 

As far as I know, Darius has not made any attempt to do anything other than write, record and take acting lessons. Has he even taken step one - does he have an agent over there?

 

I was just speculating that in the future if, because of the strains on his relationship that long separations can have, Darius felt compelled to actively pursue a career in the States, provided he had the correct immigration status, then he'd be wise to spend a good, long time, working solidly and taking every opportunity which presented itself until he'd built a credible Stateside CV.

Probably - but not that.

Disappointed I can't turn my display back to what it used to be - including the advert, which has always been there.

 

I really, really hate the sea of white space around the advert.

When the ad changes, it'll look a bit different.

The ad does change pretty frequently but they're all of a similar size and the sea of white is always there. It's there on the general entertainment page too.

 

 

I don't mind the static adverts. It's the flashing ones I hate.

I hardly noticed the ads before but now I hate them. Being irritated every time a page opens, doesn't exactly add to my BJ experience.

I just dismiss them from my miond - I don't even notive them now.

I'd rather they filled the rest of that white space with a couple of more bands of adverts! Then I could give them all the casual glance I used to give the ad band at the top. Sometimes the ones along the page would make me laugh, because they seemed to pick up keywords from the posts. The ones at the top of the general threads really made me howl with laughter.

It was bad when GWTW closed though - they kept offering me tickets

Dont know if anyone saw last night the Burt Bacharach electric proms but he had on jamie cullum singing the song Darius sang on leaving pop idol - Make it easy on yourself - it wasnt a patch on D singing this song - he struggled with high notes and in fact bent quite a few to get round it. I love that song and would put that on a covers album with from a distance if D ever did one. I then watched the american programme C.S.I and one of the main characters was called Darius, his named was quoted all the time. Funny that as I remember D visiting the set of this programme a while back with Natasha and meeting the cast.
