It's funny how many things do remind you of something Darius did. I wish it were because Darikus was doing them now though.

There are high notes in Make It Easy On Yourself?

I always thought Scott Walker was known for the depth and warmth of his voice on that song and that's why it was a suitable choice for Darius as the 2nd best song for him for final 3 Judges' Choice.

I say 2nd best because Ray Monk ( musical director of PI and incidentally of SOP Big Sing) was completely blown away when Darius rehearsed You've Lost That Loving Feeling for the final 3 in PI but it seems SC refused to let him sing it, without explanation.

To me there was only one explanation. He'd probably make the final if he sang it - perhaps even win it. Remember, Simon had already recorded all 3 boys' versions of the winner's songs which they'd sing in the final. In the negatively biased VTR, Darius was seen singing unaccompanied and doubting if he could sing the song in that key. Doubting and doing are different in Darius's case. I'll bet he mastered them.

So say someone changed a contestant's song to a less impressive one and gave the impression he couldn't sing the winners' songs, what more might it take to make sure he didn't go through? - ah yes, how about giving him something ridiculous in comparison to what the others would sing, say Dancing In The Moonlight?

Amazing that YLTLF was not suitable for the competition but first in line for Darius's debut single for the man who refused to let him sing it on the show.

Just as well Darius that by that stage Darius had seen enough of what went on behind scenes and didn't want to win the competition, and that he had the good sense to slip the SC and the PW noose or his debut album could have been in the same vein as the others with lots of covers and a smattering of good original songs.

If you just highlight and copy the address at the top of the screen and then paste it in the thread, that should work.
I've never found the underline key on my keyboard. Wherever is it?
Just take your mouse up to the address bar and left click. Then right click with your mouse and select copy (left click to select it). Go to your post and right click on your mouse and select paste (which you left click). You don't have to underline it, the pc does that for you as it recognises that you've posted a link to another page on the web.

Sorry, Meg, I didn't mean that. I can do that.

I meant when typing something, how do I underline it? I've been using capitals to emphasize a word because

I can't find how to underline.

Do you see the little boxes above the reply box? one has an underlined u in it. Highlight the text you want underlined and then press the u button It'll put the underlining code into your reply. the b button makes the text bold in the same way and i makes it italics.

So simple when it has been explained!!!!!!

Thanks Meg.I think I'm getting better...honestly.

Everything is more difficult when you haven't done it before. When we went over to replace our dumb terminals with pcs at work, I spent more time showing very intelligent, highly skilled computer people hiow something like a pc works. I'd never used one either but I just assumed it'd be harder to break than a proper computer.

When my first computer was given to me, I was assured that whatever I did it couldn't break.

Three weeks later it blew up.

I'm now on my second one and praying.

I doubt it was anything you did - unless you washed it, poured water (or tea - or something stronger ) over it.
You can hear Jamie cullums version on -

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode...urt_Bacharach = that should be underlined.

Oh dear, I wish I hadn't listened to that. It wasn't like the same song sung in that key.

Tbh Jamie Cullum has never been my cup of tea. I've never got the he's so talented bit at all. For me, he does not have a distinctive nor remarkable voice.

As far as that rendition of MIEOY goes, I could hear absolutely no emotion in his voice. It's one of the most important things to me when I listen to music.

All the words were there and he was hitting all the notes but the delivery just left me cold, apart from all that unnecessary ad lib stuff which always gets me hot under the collar, no matter who does it. It's one of the reasons I'm not keen on jazz and why I don't like singers like Whitney, Mariah and Leona who trill through the lyrics bending all the vowels to squeeze in as many notes as possible into one word, and all those who try to copy that style, male or female.

I really dislike Jamie Cullum, usually I hear his "versions" of standards on the supermarket rounds, and we can always guess its him - because any song he does seems to lose its way, sometimes it takes a while to even recognise what he is singing!!! he murders songs I would normally like from that genre

I am afraid most everyting I see or hear makes me think of darius, Burt Bacherac om the One show- all I could think of was darius doing all we need is love etc which evidently he wrote, its wierd how most evrything is related to darius in my head, happy hour tonight features cilla black, des oconner and philip schofield..my only thoughts..all of them have met and liked darius. Obbssessed is what hubby calls it...

Wouldn't he make a great Mr. Darcy in the new Pride and Prejudice musical? I'd go and see that.

quote meg - Wouldn't he make a great Mr. Darcy in the new Pride and Prejudice musical? I'd go and see that.

Wouldnt we all. Would even be thrilled to see him in a period piece on tv screenplay written by andrew davies who has done Little dorritt coming on shortly by chas.dickens.Andrew davies also did pride and prejudice with colin firth.

Colin Donnell is playing Darcy on Broadway......he is only 24 years old, sounds a bit young for the part.

It's not a straight storyline, Jane Austen is seen constantly reviewing the story and re-setting it. Hope it works.

At least the songs hane been released for people to get to know them before they see the show.

I don't know whether that would have worked with GWTW as the songs were just so much part of the show.

Next week's TV and Satellite - top of the list of the TV and Satellite week barometer:
