That is so sad I can not begin to imagine what his wife is going through so young as well.

In the mirrorhttp://www.mirror.co.uk/news/topstories/2008/05/23/natascha-mcelhone-s-surgeon-husband-martin-kelly-died-from-a-heart-condition-89520-20427290/ it says he died of Dilated Cardiomyopathy it says 3 other family members died from the same, what a shame the family were not screened as it can be detected. My daughter Paula is doing the London 10k run for the Cardiomyopathy association charity.

I can't even start to imagine.

Hope Paula enjoys the 10K run.....excellent way to bring the disease to the notice of many.

Thanks Pam I hope she does but like you said we need to make people more aware of these things as it could save lives.

That's a fact.

I always thought that where there was a history of life threatening illnesses in a family, members of the family were given regular screenings. I think I maybe read about it in relation to cancer.

Maybe it's just in Scotland or just the initiative of one hospital, I don't know.

I know that doesn't always happen here. A friend is the 4th generation breast cancer sufferer and her daughter in her 20s hasnt received ant councelling.

Found a song on a lyrics site called Soldier of fortune and attributed to Darius.

The lyrics quoted are those of a song recorded by Deep Purple and by Whitesnake

I know Darius has done a few covers and in many styles but I don't think anyone's ever mentioned him singing this.

Anybody?

Did it actually say attributed, or in tribute to ? I've never heard of it.

Sometimes the phrases are mixed up.

That's it. I was sitting back thinking there's plenty of time. I can safely take on other commitments and see the show a few more times.

Now I'm feeling angry with myself and frustrated because those commitments mean I may not be able to see the show again or see Darius for a long time.

I have a feeling something good is comiing. I just really, really lack patience

That's exactly how I feel Meg, I hope we're right!! A few of us saw Darius (and the rest of the cast) just after they had been told the bad news. Most of them seemed devastated but Darius and Jill came out separately and both of them appeared OK (I get the feeling that they might have been forewarned!!) Anyway, Darius' comment was 'onwards and upwards' and while he was talking to Allison and I D's friend was telling another lady that 'D would be fine'!!! :)

Apparently D told Joan that ALW had been to see the show!!??? I wonder.......

We can but just wait and see........

I have everything crossed - Darius ws so exceptional as Rhett, it would be the WE loss if they dismissed him, many appear in things that don't do well, its part and parcel of showbusiness.

In the documentary, the (pre- first night version of it), Trevor Nunn says it's always 50/50 with anything you do.
