March 24, 200817 yr You have to consider the press coverage its bound to get, especially in May... personally, I'd like to see it flop as its garbage...
March 24, 200817 yr Author Yer I guess there is that to consider... Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait. :w00t: I'll do the final in a few days or something I think. ^_^
March 26, 200817 yr Gosh...what´s wrong with me?! It seems that I am the only person within ESC Planet to hate Spanish and Irish entries...My mother is Spanish and my father is Irish and I JUST HATE SPANISH AND IRISH ENTRIES! What´s wrong with, e.g., PORTUGUESE and ANDORRA ENTRIES...those are magnificent entries and so under-rated...WHEN WILL PEOPLE STOP POLITICS AND START JUDGIND THE TRUE QUALITY OF MUSIC? My top 3 are (Randomly): PORTUGAL ANDORRA ARMENIA So what...NOT AFFRAID TO SAY! SPANISH AND IRISH MUSIC ARE TRULLY RUBISH!
March 27, 200817 yr Author Final Armenia 264Russia 254Ukraine 252Serbia 218Turkey 174Sweden 174Greece 160Romania 121Spain 121Georgia 118Portugal 81Bosnia-Herzegovina 77Israel 68FYR Macedonia 61France 58Iceland 53Norway 53Bulgaria 40Belgium 31Azerbaijan 28Albania 28United Kingdom 26Finland 19Switzerland 8Germany 7 I still see Armenia winning, with Russia and Ukraine hot on their heels. These are still the three to beat imo! Serbia should do well too, however I don't think they've quite got the force to do it two years in a row. 'Oro' is certainly no 'Molitva' either. I'm still going for a top five finish for Turkey too, though as you can see, I've got them tied with Sweden on fifth place. Greece should do pretty well too, though I don't think they'll be much of a threat at the top, and I've gone for the dreaded 'Baila el ChikiChiki' getting over the hundred mark! Romania's quirkiness should see them get a decent enough result again and I also predict a top ten finish for Georgia. Portugal, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Israel should also do alright and Macedonia should be secured another mid-table finish by virtue of those tens and 12s they will receive from just about all of the Balkan countries. France... well it's a good song, but I can't see it going down too well in Europe, truth be told. Iceland and Norway both have great songs, and whilst I see them qualifying one way or another, I can't see them setting the scoreboard alight on May 24th. Ditto with Bulgaria and Belgium. Azerbaijan and Albania will both get overshadowed also, I fear, the latter by Serbia in particular. Bottom four then, and it's another bottom four finish for the United Kingdom. I think we'll pick up a good few points from Malta (once they fail to qualify again) and Ireland and maybe one or two here or there. Finland's rock number... I really don't know about this. It could go one way or the other but I've gone for it qualifying and then flopping! Probably a wrong move! Switzerland will only get through via the jury vote I think, so will flop on the final night and Germany's song is nothing special tbh (despite me liking it originally) and if the reports of the girls' vocals being hideous live are anything to go by, it could well be another miserable year for the Germans.
March 27, 200817 yr I just can't imagine France getting anywhere near enough support to finish 15th...I think they'll come last...its such an odd song, dance fans will be out clubbing on a Saturday night, not watching Eurovision it will be a crime if Germany finish last too...I'm prepared for some seriously ropey vocals from No Angels though...if they won Popstars though, they must be able to sing live so why do they fail at that task so often  I can't see us getting 12 from Malta again either...I don't think Andy will get any 12's but I can see him getting a few 1s, 2s and 3s like good old Daz in 2006
March 27, 200817 yr i think too - No angels will really get the last place with the 2nd number of performance in the final :( Armenia...hmmm.... tbh i like the introduction of this song and another part reminds me Andorra's entry  so i don't see Sirusho winning.
April 14, 200817 yr Author 26 points is too ambitious for us now I've decided. Three or four points from Ireland at best.
April 15, 200817 yr 26 points is too ambitious for us now I've decided. Three or four points from Ireland at best. 22nd place is too ambitious too :P but don't Ireland love everything X Factor related?
May 10, 200817 yr Author I had another go at going through the whole voting shebang during my week of illness, and here's what I came up with... SEMI FINAL #1Armenia 155Russia 145Greece 127Bosnia-Herzegovina 113Romania 104Ireland 87Israel 86Belgium 71Andorra 56Norway 48Azerbaijan 48Slovenia 43Netherlands 34Estonia 27Moldova 23Finland 23Montenegro 16Poland 12San Marino 0I've gone back to thinking that Ireland probably will qualify now, but not too comfortably... Armenia, Russia, Bosnia and Romania will still all go through easily though I think - remember Romania's similar 2002 song that did very well? - and Israel should also go through. Belgium will be the "surprise package" and Andorra will pick up small votes throughout with a 12 from Spain, ensuring their qualification. I still think Norway will get the jury vote, it'll be a travesty if it doesn't! Azerbaijan and Slovenia are two I'm unsure about though - where are the Azerbaijani immigrants? If they're anything like the Armenians, then they'll probably sail through with Belgium and the Netherlands in this final! The rest are pretty much guaranteed to flop I think... SEMI FINAL #2Ukraine 154Bulgaria 151Sweden 127Iceland 110Turkey 108Latvia 91Georgia 72Albania 71Portugal 62Hungary 57Belarus 47Switzerland 42FYR Macedonia 41Czech Republic 32Croatia 30Malta 25Denmark 24Cyprus 20Lithuania 12Perhaps I'm overestimating Bulgaria here a bit, as I certainly don't see them coming anywhere near Ukraine in the final! Latvia's hideous entry should nudge its way through... but will hopefully be overshadowed in the final. Sweden, Iceland and Turkey should go through fairly easily, and then we have Georgia and Albania, both of which I believe have reasonably strong songs and certainly enough firepower and neighbours to get them through here. Portugal will make it this year too, but only just. We can't have a repeat of 2007! I hope Switzerland will get the jury vote when they flop in their heat... but that's by no means guaranteed. I actually don't see Macedonia qualifying this year now I've decided, particularly now it'll be sung in English. Who else will vote for it aside from the Balkan countries? Not many, I feel. Ditto with Croatia. Another Malta failure should see them give us a few points in the final... though it won't be the 12 that Scooch gave us! FINALArmenia 268Russia 260Serbia 253Ukraine 253Greece 176Sweden 141Turkey 127Bosnia-Herzegovina 117Bulgaria 116Portugal 110Spain 106Iceland 84Ireland 82Romania 69Albania 61Latvia 55Andorra 49Georgia 38Norway 32Israel 28United Kingdom 24France 18Belgium 17Switzerland 8Germany 2It's still going to be Armenia, although I'm getting more and more inclined to think that it could be Serbia's year again. When I was doing this, Serbia were in the lead for a very lengthy period. Russia will thankfully just miss out again - so it'll be another decent entry next year! - and Ukraine should comfortably finish top five again. Moving down then are a cluster of "safe" countries, who won't trouble the leaders but will do well enough to secure top ten placings. And for some reason I can see Portugal getting more attention in the final than in their semi, and doing rather well. Spain and Ireland's novelty entries will hopefully be each other's worst enemies and halt any real succes they can have, and the other three of the big four will fare pretty poorly. Perhaps I'm being too kind to the UK again? We'll have to wait and see I suppose... Germany to come last though. That song really does get boring after a minute or so. Whoever gets through via the jury votes doesn't stand much of a chance either. I might do a song-by-song analysis soon, so be warned!
May 10, 200817 yr Interesting! :D The only thing I'd change would be the Belorussian ranking. I'd push it up to 9. It's like their entry last year, and that did well. It would be great if Greece didn't get through. Same old song every year.
May 10, 200817 yr We agree pretty much exactly on the semis now! :heehee: I still think that Germany will get more than 25 points though, especially as the song sounds very good at first ^_^

May 10, 200817 yr Yes, there's quite a large chance of that happening, so I hear :( Oh and I don't think Portugal will go top 10 anytime soon, I still have no idea why everyone loves Portugal so much this year! Is everyone else listening to a different version to mine or something, because all I hear is an average ballad
May 10, 200817 yr its average for any other country, but for Portugal its way above their usual standard :P interesting to see how Latvia will do, there's a new version on the CD...the woman goes crazy ad-libbing at the end now! It's much better
May 10, 200817 yr oh and David...Poland second to last in the first semi! 4 words: Massive. Polish. Diaspora. Everywhere
May 10, 200817 yr ^ Oh yes, I didn't notice that! :o Poland are really in contention for 11th this year methinks...
May 10, 200817 yr For Life is an alright song, Isis is a good singer and very attractive...I wouldn't be totally shocked if it qualified for the final tbh
